I had applied to 2-3 colleges including Thapar and, i chose thapar because of its ranking and campus and also because of its placements. Placements were the main reason to go there. There is a cutoff for getting admission in Thapar which depends on the paper's difficulty and other different factors. Every year Jee Mains's cutoff changes and so does thapar cutoff. On the counseling day, there was a full panel that included the registration desk and other desks for choosing your branch and paying fees. It was a very smooth process, we were all seated according to our rankings and then according to our rankings they called us and got ourselves registered and then chose our branch according to our preference and whichever was available.

I chose this course because i had an interest in tech and i was a good learning experience in Thapar. All the faculty members were well qualified and some of them used digital means for teaching and that was really helpful. The term exams were held in two parts midterms and end terms. It was really necessary to study well to pass those exams. END TERMS were quite difficult.

The companies that visit Thapar for placements also recruit students for different internships scc to their skills and the internship they apply for. It has the same procedure as the placement one.

In their students are eligible for placements from their 4th year. A lot of companies visit Thapar for campus placements and they have their rounds acc to what they want. Companies like Microsoft, Amazon, and other MNC's do visit Thapar with a big salary package.

The cost of BTech in Thapar is approximately 20 lacs including hostel and food and the fees increases every year. Scholarships are based on the academic performance of an individual. In first year it is based on your jee mains ranking and after that every year it depends upon your academic performance.

Social life and campus life was the best thing about Thapar. You can have all the fun and make great friends. I was in multiple societies and that made me who i am today. Those societies helped me gain confidence and i learned how to interact with people. Other than societies there are many sports activities and sports events for the students who are interested in sports.

Hostel life is the most amazing experience of your life. You make friends and chill out with them. The hostel provides all the facilities like water electricity 24/7, 3 meals with evening tea, some hostels have A/C's and some are without A/C's you can take whichever you want according to your preference.
