Remarks
This college was Close to hometown. I was also getting a top rank branch. Also, it's a renowned college, and its famous all over Bengal and India I guess. NIRF rank was also great. Admission process was normal, like every college you enter through JoSAA. You obviously need to remember to create your anti ragging affidavit. There's a website, but I doubt any NIT website is approachable for students who are going to take admission. It's futile to go there. There's a Facebook group for that information for new admissions. As for good and bad aspects, they won't matter. None too bad aspects to keep in mind. Also, one must remember, even if it's a great subject like Computer Science or Electronics, it depends on the College and particular department whether it's gonna be good. Frankly speaking, CS and ECE departments in the college are not very good. While Information Technology department is amazing.
Course Curriculum Overview
Student faculty ratio is fine. Faculties are often pass outs of the same college. Teaching methods depend on the teacher. Term exams were held normally. Even now in quarantine. I chose Electronics subject because it's rank was good, also because I had done some robotics projects. They are not the same, a warning now. We would ultimately work with circuits though, so it'll be same. In addition there's subjects on communication, which are good. Usually courses on Electronics are back dated all over India. So most knowledge comes from your own pursuit, which is not so bad.
Internships Opportunities
Not yet. Recently we had a departmental senior who got internship in Texas Instruments.
Placement Experience
I guess from 6th SEM you can be eligible for placement. I am gonna be in 3rd SEM now. Highest average package I've heard of was a 50 l.p.a. Microsoft package. Could be the highest, or maybe not. A list of companies and placement details are generally up in the website. I plan to change my subject and pursue BFA.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fee structure is about approximately 65K to 70K for tuition and infrastructure and about 30K for hostel. There's a system of Fee Waiver by submission of Income Certificate. If you have an annual income of Less than 5 l.p.a. then you get two thirds of the tuition fees waived. And less than 1 l.p.a. gets full waiver, you pay about 2K for tuition fees. Hostel fees doesn't have a waiver. I haven't yet been placed, I'm in second year. Also, meals are available in the hostel. It comes under that cost only. Sometimes, if all the students in a particular hostel eat more lavishly than was budgeted, you need to pay a bit more. Also, mostly everybody gets a hostel. They allocate room on basis of the air distance of your hometown from the college. Mostly people who stayed in the outskirts of Kolkata faced some problems, but eventually they too get alloted if rooms are empty.
Campus Life
Life at campus is Amazing. Library has got useful books, and classrooms are nice and spacey. Our annual tech fest is Instruo, which happens around October, every college can participate. Other than that departments also have individual technical fests. Annual Cultural fest is REBECA. Which is the first and oldest cultural fest organized for students, every student in Kolkata looks forward to it. There are a lots of clubs who hold their inductions and everyone is informed about them duly. There's lot of clubs, activities and fun. Kolkata is close by, for anytime you wanna visit the famous Victoria Memorial or Birla Planetarium. Just few minutes far is The Avani Mall in Shibpur and We got the Ganges running behind the college, you can get a nice view from the SnT building or any tall structure. From Lt. Williams hostel (for Post Graduate female students) you can see both The Howrah Bridges. Also, the AJC Bose Botanical Garden is a walking length from the college. There's a bustling marketplace too. It's everything you can hope from an amazing campus.

Exam Structure
JEE Mains, 2019, Rank 15311
Admission
Nah. Only JEE Mains. Preparation for JEE Mains isn't so etching I would need to elaborate on. My year JEE Mains was conducted twice and I got a final percentile and a rank. My rank was 15311, and I had girls quota. Which didn't affect much I guess. I had boys with similar rank around. Also, in our college there's an odd discretion, which is, outside West Bengal people get more preference. This is mostly because the overwhelming Bengali Majority I guess. Other states I've seen colleges having state reservation. Here it's opposite. So if you are from outside Bengal, you got a good chance of getting a good branch.
