Entrance Preview
I took West Bengal joint examination and opted for this college since it was in a good neighbourhood and near my house. And from my year onwards it was said to be autonomous. Also I was impressed by the infrastructure of the college.
Course Curriculum Overview
I took electronics and communication engineering. The subjects that were taught to us every sem were vital . Except we were not taught java which I feel is important. Also subjects like instrumentation and optical engineering were not really useful. Other than that the course curriculum was fine and was taught to us well.
Internships Opportunities
There are frequent seminars and trainings but no internship offered. Atleast not in my course. Not sure about the BBA and MBA courses.
Placement Experience
The placement this year was quite good. Companies like Tech Mahindra , Subex, Capgemini , Zensar etc came. The packages given were good. Around 3 lpa. The highest package offered was 6 lpa offered by Byju's. Also these companies will be offering training. Some of them offering internships.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Every semester we had to pay around 40,000. This amount is quite standard in West Bengal engineering colleges. Students having TFW had to pay 4000 every month. Other than that there might be some scholarships given to minorities of which I'm uncertain about.
Fees and Financial Aid
Some students got TFW They had to pay 4000 every sem. And there was a scholarship given to minorities.
Campus Life
In our department we had around 30 girls and 80 boys. The amount of girls in CSE and IT were higher. I was involved in the photography club which conducted contests every 6 months. There were other activities as well including debate, content writing, sports. Also the technical symposium took place every year where well known industrialist came as the key note speaker.
Exam Structure
We had two internal exams of 15 marks each every semester for each subjects. Then we had our semester exams which includes the 100 marks lab exams and 70 marks written exams. 15 marks were given for Attendance we had 5 or 6 subjects every semester and 3 or 4 lab exams every semester.
Admission
The process was really simple. I got this college as I shortlisted it on my WBJEE form. And in the second counselling I got this college. My rank was around 35,000. On the day before of the admission I had to come and enroll myself. We had to submit an official statement that we would not involve ourselves in ragging. After that we had to submit the admission fee which was around 87000 in my year.
Faculty
The faculty in our college were mostly good. They guided us whenever needed. Specially before exams when we needed them the most. Also my project mentor was really helpful. He helped me decide what project I wanted to work on and how to successfully complete it.
