Good aspects (*CSE): The institute is growing in a very rapid pace, just 3 batches have passed out and IIITK has already achieved a average package of 8lpa , around 30 companies visit for hiring students every year, and the placement cell is working hard to increase and improve it and they are doing well. Coding environment is good at IIITK, developing coding skills has been given importance, and they train students from 1st year itself (its on students, how seriously they should take coding). About academics IIITK is already on top, the teaching and support staffs are very good, even in the pandemic situation they managed to run classes and exams smoothly. IIITK has all types of fests, cultural, technical and sports to refresh and entertain students. Clubs handled by the students, organizes many things which develops once personality in all fields of life. College has AIC center too, which helps student to get funding for theirs startups. its supper supportive towards startups.Bad aspects: It will not be fair to point this under bad aspect, but still I will mention it. The campus infrastructure is not 100%, its still under development but sufficient. So expecting things like a swimming pool, separate grounds or a indoor complex might lead you to sadness for now, but it might be ready in following 3-4 years. Admission: the admission is through JoSSA, based purely on the candidates JEE-Mains rank. In my case it happened in June-July, now because of the pandemic its different i guess.For my rank i was getting CSE in colleges which were newly established, so i had few to compare, and in those i chose IIIT Kottayam because it was better in those newly established colleges group, transportation and connectivity was easy for me.

I had decided to opt CSE only so my only choice was CSE, the curriculum IIIT Kottayam follows is very good and reputed one. Its in the level of other reputed IIT's/NIT's. Faculties and support staffs are really good and have a good knowledge in their field. Teaching is good, will be having labs, assignments regularly. Talking about examination we have 2 internal and 1 end-sem (lab exams included) and the papers will be really testing your understanding of the topics, it will not be easy (at least that's what I felt).

Yes, I have done 2 internships. One unpaid internship as a AI developer at verzio, and another as a Data Scientist at UST Global with a stipend of 24kpm. IIIT kottayam has attracted many companies to hire their students as inters, many companies have hired students form the college and it is really good.

For me it is around 1,20,000 rupees per sem including tuition fees + mess + hotel. But i has been increased to 1,60,000 for newly joining people. You don't get any scholarship or off in the fees even if you are a category student. As i have said before campus placement is good and is getting better, have reached a avg. of 8lpa , around 30 companies visits and the numbers are increasing every year thanks to the hardworking people of placement cell. College gives many opportunities for students to do their higher studies abroad, supper supportive towards startups as the college has AIC center.

Enlace is the culture fest which happens in odd sem, Dhruva is the technical fest, happens in even sem, Pradhva is the sports fest, happens in the month of February. And all the festivals in the academic calendrer are celebrated with very high energy, like we have events on Onam, Diwali , Ganesh Chaturthi, Republic day, Independence day.
