Remarks
First of all, Jee is a kind of exam where college of most of the students is decided by their rank and not by their will. And second thing is that i always wanted to pursue aerospace engineering but no NIT has this brance hence i opted for mechanical. And best college for my rank with mech branch was NITS.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course is good, since concepts taught in mechanical are applicable in major portion of our life, be it cooking utensils or fighter jet. All of the facilities are well qualified and trained and most of them are good behaviour wise. Most of them have boring teaching method you will find any random guy on YouTube more entertaining and inclusive. There are two exams per sem and minors and lots of assignment in between them. One really need to study before exam otherwise F grade is sure in the marksheet.
Placement Experience
In core placement are not that much high paying but its decent.
Campus Life
Campus life is awesome. Since NITs have 50% reservation for home state so where ever to take admission 50% of the population will be of the local guys. Social is good, one makes a lot of friends from different backgrounds and culture. College has all kind of clubs and some new ones are incoming. As far as infrastructure related to academic purpose is conserned, it is hunky Dory but apart from that work is needed to be done. Incandescense and Technosis are cultural and technical fest of college respectively. Apart from that branches also organise their own technical and culture event on the branch level.NITS has Asia's largest digital library. As far as sports are considered it has Cricket stadium, football stadium, Lawn tennis court, Basketball and Volleyball court. For indoor games it has SAC and gymkhana is also there.

Exam Structure
JEE, year: 2019 Score: ~ 98%ile
Admission
I appeared for JEE. Apart from that nothing is there in the selection criteria except good rank. Test consist of a 3hrs exam where 90 questions used to be their and for each correct answer 4 marks and for each incorrect one 0.25 used to be awarded. One needed to qualify the cut-off and score good percentile to get admission. Just qualifying the cut-off doesn't give you a chance of admission, back then in 2019 JEE main was conducted twice and JEE advanced once a year. (Note: Now all the pattern and no. of attempts per year have changed.)
