One of the best institute for Metallurgical Engineering in West Bengal.

After completion of my Diploma in Mechanical Engineering i appeared for JEELET 2020 and having a rank of 657 in general quota and choose this university for completing B-Tech in Metallurgical Engineering. After all confirmation from WBJEE board i filled a google form provided by the university and attached the admission fees slip and provide basic details. One day they call me for physical verification that day i had to submit my all documents along with Indemnity bond and medical fitness certificate. If anyone comes through WBJEE or JEEMain they have to follow same process and only one criteria is for them to score minimum 45% marks in science in 12th.

I am new in Metallurgy but from my point of view course curriculum is well distributed and a lot of labratory classes are there. Student capacity is 30 but we are only 17 now so student faculty ratio is good. All faculties are very helpful and knowledgeable and have minimum M-tech degree and most of them have PhD degrees. Some have industry experience. Like other colleges here also two sem are in each year and it is quite tough to score above 80%.

from next semester we will go for internship but we are doing online internship from our end now. Our HOD, TPO, Student Co-Ordinator trying hard to send us in Tata Steel, Tata Metaliks, Hindalco Industries, Jai Balaji Steel, JSW for industrial internship and who are interested for project work they will send those candidates to IIT Kharagpur, NML Dhanbad, NIT Durgapur. Already some of the candidates are going through a online training on "Industrial Training on Metallurgy" arranged by NML Dhanbad.

We are the 1st batch of B-Tech so we dont have the option still now and we are just in our 5th sem so we have to wait for that. But if we see the placement of Diploma Candidates that is good comparing this pandemic situation. 60% of students placed with minimum 13000/month salary offered by the companies near Howrah, Durgapur, Ranigunj. I have to get a job from here . Getting a job is depending on the interview obviously but we have to maintain 7.5 CGPA minimum with 75% attendance.

Fees is ok for me but if it will be reduced by 5000 per semester it will be great for all students. But they provide financial assistance and scholarships are also there so dont worry about fees. Now a days Student Credit card facility is also there. They provide campus placement only for engineering students.

Campus life is good, we enjoyed here all time. No political matter, no ragging is the best part. The classrooms are awesome. We have an audiovisual facility in class rooms. All books provided by book bank. The stock of books are great. All kind of cultural program organized by university. I enjoyed specially fest and tech fest arranged by SMM.
