Remarks
I applied for Jadavpur University, KGEC, and Jalpaiguri government engineering college. According to my GMR(GMR-243), I have been given this college. I got to this college without any quota. After counselling, I have to pay an amount of Rs-5000 for seat booking. And at the time of admission, I have to pay Rs-9684 as admission fees. After admission, the seat booking fees are compensated in semester fees.
Course Curriculum Overview
I choose this because I easily understood this subject comparing to other subjects. We have a total of 8 semesters. I faculties are highly qualified and the ratio of faculties and students are decent. The exam is tough but if you read the subjects with basic understanding it is not so tough.
Internships Opportunities
It is my 3rd year and I don't get any opportunities for an internship but anyone who wants any internship he or she can get here. Also, they are being paid a decent stipend. In our syllabus projects are mandatory. So all the students have to do any one project in a group. A project coordinator is assigned to discuss the project and guide us about the project.
Placement Experience
From the 7th semester, students become eligible for campus placement. Almost all IT companies are visited for campus placement like google, media.net, infosys Amazon etc. IT and CSE students are getting around 90% placement but core trade is lagging behind and not getting a decent placement. The percentage of placement of core trade is very very low.
Fees and Financial Aid
almost Rs-40000 is needed for the total academic cost of four years. Rs-40000(total semesters fees-almost Rs-10000. and cost of every year approx Rs-7500). Hostel fees not included. I got an SVMCM scholarship for continuing my study.
Campus Life
JECLET is the name of the annual fest. It is an enjoyable programme. Everyone enjoy this fest. Those student who have any talent they can explore here. The library is very good and well organized and almost all the required books are available. PRATILIPI is the name of our journal. Almost all types of popular sports are available on this campus like cricket, football, badminton etc. If you have any type of talent in any field you can explore yourself. huge opportunities are available here. Apart from this, about 12 to 15 clubs are present on the campus. Those are actively working in various fields. Mainly the JYOTI CLUB is actively working to educate the underprivileged students around college locations.
