I choose WBJEE and my rank was 4572. I choose computer science as it was of my interest.You can also get admitted to this via the AIEEE which has now changed to JEE Prelims.

The course curriculum is at par to good engineering colleges. Haldia Institute of Technology comes under West Bengal University of Technology and thus the course is defined by the university. You will get all the exposure to good courses and benefit form the good professors.

Yes, my college provide internship but that are limited to the students who are pursuing the Masters from my college and the amount is somewhere around 8000 rupees.

Most of the famouc MNC like TCS , Wipro , Infosys , Cognizant visit our campus and recruits in bulk. Even in the core branch there were many placement opportunity as companies like Renuka Sugar , Haldia petro chemicals visited our campus and recruited form there.

Culturally the college was very vibrant . We had all sort of activities ranging from games to dance to music to tech fest and more. the cultural festival named riviera was the famous one and many stage performers and socially claimed singers like Palash Sen and Javed Ali visited our college.

The fee structure is normal as compared to the colleges of South India where they charge huge amount and the final placement is same Multi national companies as ours. TCS also had an ILP Initial Learning Program in our college . The time i read the total cost was 2 lakh 7 thousand with approx thirty thousand per semester.

I have availed the loan from Bank Of India and the process was quiet simple. I just had got a letter form by college that i am a bonafied student and want the loan. I submitted this to the bank and within days my loan was sanctioned.

The gender ratio is also good. We have many cultural festival where the students participate in elocution , ex tempo, dance and many more. The technical fest is organised every year where the student hone their skills at robotics , hacking , gaming etc.

The hostel facility was good. Even though we had to share the rooms but that was were we made bonds with out college mates. The hostel has the LAN facility which can be used to surf internet and learn things online. We have also our locally installed servers were we shared the stuff for other mates.

The course was divided in 8 semesters and each year we had two semesters. In each semester we had five to seven subjects and three to four labs. The odd semester was conducted in December and the even in June. There were internal screening test done twice per semester and there marks were added in the final grade point.

I applied in WBJEE( West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination) and gave the exam, the examination centre was in Kolkata. There after i got all India rank as 4572, I attended the counselling in Kolkata and opted for this college. The exam notification comes some where around October and the exams are held in April.
