Remarks

I have applied for IEM college but didn't attend it due to high fees. Then I joined Techno India Salt Lake as the fees were affordable for me with my tfw quota. The admission process was like a cakewalk. I just had to submit my marks sheet for classes 10 and 12 and my Wbjee ran card.

Course Curriculum Overview

I choose computer science and engineering as from my childhood I was fascinated by computers. There is a good ratio of faculty and students. Teachers here are very intelligent and have long experience of teaching. Exams are always taken on time. To be honest I would say it's quite easy to pass the exam if you go through past year papers.

Internships Opportunities

We get internship offers from TCS and new start-ups. Basically, they hire us as a junior level developer. Since I am in my 5th sem so I am not aware of the kind of projects being done during the internship period.

Placement Experience

Students become eligible for placement after the 6th semester. TCS, Wipro, Infosys and Deloitte is the mass recruitment company. The highest package is 50 LPA and the average package goes to 5 LPA. From the CSE department this time we had 100% placement, but I am not sure about other departments. After getting my degree I want to pursue further studies and so I am preparing for the gate exam.

Fees and Financial Aid

Students have to pay 4.83 lakh for the 4 year program. However, for the students who come from financially weaker sections, they have to make tfw certificate and then the fees for 4 year course becomes 1.51 lakh

Campus Life

Edge is our annual tech fest which includes competition from coding, web development, quiz, photography to essay writing and dancing. It is conducted every year in the month of April. Semester books are always available in the library. There is a sports club in our college that organize events quarterly. It includes football,carrom,etc. But due to lockdown now we only play eSports. There are clubs like eclectica, geekonix, etc, which organise events related to literature and techs.

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
