Remarks
Second best college in the state level as compared to Jadavpur University. The admission takes place based on the rank a candidate gets in WBJEE. The exam is basically consists of 2 paper. One is Maths and other is Physics + Chemistry. Total marks is 200 which is divided into 100 + 50 + 50.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is good. The university has introduced a lot of new subjects in the 3rd and 4th year. The faculties are also good not best. But they do help and motivate students for the betterment of career.
Placement Experience
The placements and job opportunities are good. From the final year onwards every student is eligible to sit for the placement if he/she fulfills the prerequisite of the job profile. Companies like TCS, CTS, Wipro etc. visit the campus. If your are good enough then you can also get placed in big product based companies which is the story of every year in off-campus.
Fee Structure And Facilities
For CSE and ECE the fee 6000 per semester. For EE and ME the fee is 3000 per semester and for IT the fee is 12000 per semester. There are opportunities for scholarship. The campus jobs are decent. There is extra fee that has to be paid for exam in each semester which is roughly 1000.
Campus Life
Life on campus is not great but also not worse. It is average. The social life is good enough. There are a lot of clubs for different activities like coding, developer, singing, dancing, drama, photography. One can join the club according to their choices.
Hostel Facilities
There are 4 boys hostel and 1 girls hostel. The meal quality is average. There is a separate hostel for 1st year students. Staying in the hostels is not mandatory. One can stay in PGs near the college.
Admission
There were no Group discussion, interview. The admission was based on the scores and rank obtained by the candidate in the WBJEE. After the result one can fill their choices in the counseling.
