Remarks

The admission process is very simple. Well, it starts from the application form. First, you will have to apply for the WBJEE exam then for giving this exam you will have to visit West Bengal as they don't provide centers outside Bengal. In my case, I have given the exam and the exam was of good level. The level of wbjee is not easy and you will definitely have to good preparation. After appearing in the exam I have got a decent rank and then I appeared in the wbjee counseling. In the counseling process, I have chosen the top five colleges of Bengal then according to my rank( closing rank changes every year) I have got Haldia Institute of Technology, and since I have an internal interest in electronics so I wanted the ECE branch but that I have not got but very similar to that I have got EIE branch. It is almost similar to ECE and has very good career opportunities in the future as this branch has a mixed version of coding and core so depending on the interest of individual students can get jobs.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course curriculum is well designed according to the branch of engineering. As mentioned earlier Electronics and Instrumentation branch has a mixed version of core and software. Our curriculum includes both core subjects and software subjects so that a student can get a variety of jobs depending upon their personal interests in which they are specialized. I have an internal interest in electronics that's why I wanted to go to such a branch where I can deal with electronics. Our branch teaches how to work in a core industry and software industry. Students and faculty members are also very good in this department. As the seats are limited so there is not a crowd and every student gets personal guidance from the teachers. Teachers are very cooperative and they are well qualified in their respective subjects. The exams are taken from time to time. In a semester there are two internal assessments followed by a final exam at the end of sem and is moderate and we can get a decent score.

Internships Opportunities

4

There are a lot of opportunities for internships and it starts from the fifth semester only. There is a proper training and placement cell in our college which tries its best to provide each and every student the best internship and jobs. From every department, there is a face in that cell that provides information to their respective branch students. Many companies provide internships. Recently a company named CapParis has provided a lot of internships to students then Infosys also provides internships. From core, Industries Johnson control provide internships to students as a system engineer, Design Engineer, Control engineer, etc. Every student has to submit a project in the final year in which the teachers also help students.

Placement Experience

4

As talked the placement scenario is good in my college as well as in my department. Students can get jobs according to their capabilities. This year one student has grabbed two to three jobs which is not an easy task. From the sixth semester students becomes eligible for the campus placements and start their internships and industrial training for getting jobs. Many companies visit our college like Infosys, Wipro, TCS, Haldia petrochemicals, Meghalaya Cement, etc and many more. If a student is good he or she will definitely get a job from the college. The highest and lowest salary totally depends upon the individual that how they perform in front of the interviewers and their capabilities and speaking skills. The minimum salary starts from 3.5 lakh per annum and the highest it can go to the capability of the individual. Talking about the overall placement of college around 70 percent of students get placed and in our branch, almost 95 percent of students get a job.

Fees and Financial Aid

If we talk about the fees then I will say that you can get a better education for less money. The college fees are normal and everyone in society can afford to study. In today's time in India, education has become the most expensive thing but I can say that you can get max opportunities in this college in minimum amount. It also provides various types of scholarships to deserving students who are good in academics or co-curriculum activities. Apart from this, there are competitions from which you can also get scholarships. For poor students who can't afford college provide a TFW scheme that is tuition fee waiver and give assistance to that deserving student. The opportunity of campus placement is also good. Many companies visit the campus and recruit almost 90 percent of the students from our department. Students who are talented and have good core knowledge get a good package from the campus placements.

Campus Life

4.5

The campus life is enjoyable at this college as it has a large campus and has two to three grounds where there is a facility for playing sports. Apart from this, there is a tech-fest named PRAYUKTI held every year in the month of March and it is the most enjoyable month of the year. In that, there are many technical as well as fun events. There are many awards as well as cash prizes. At the end of the fest, there is Riviera in which some popular personalities come and perform in front of the crowd of the college. The college has a big central library in which there are a number of books and journals are present. If a student is keem of reading books then the library is a very good place for those students. There are many social groups in college in which students can join and enhance their skills and can learn many things. The classroom is also very spacious and is equipped with smart classes. There are many sports tournaments are held in the college.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

The hostel facility is also good. There are big hostels inside the campus and there are several rooms inside that. All hostels are non ac. In-room they provide a bed and a table and a chair. Apart from these sufficient fans and lights are present inside the room. Talking about the meal I will say that it is below average because in India everywhere there is the same condition of the mess so you can't expect something extraordinary. But on our campus, there are several small restaurants in which we can eat food at a very low cost and with good taste because if you will not eat then you can't study so good food is necessary. At the time of admission only you can opt for the hostel and you will get. If you want to live outside also then there are many vacant rooms near the college only and that also in a minimum rent so anyone can live outside also.

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
