Entrance Preview

I took admission via AIEEE and my rank was 33874.I opted for this college because no other alternative was present.

Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

The course curriculum seemed very interesting when it was assigned to us but later on we felt lags in the system. The teaching standards were not up to the mark and extra curriculum activities were not given any importance. Practical knowledge given was very less and entire syllabus was not even covered.

Internships Opportunities

Yes, internship opportunities are provided in bharat scooter limited, hcl, hydroelectric power plant in jammu. Their is no stipend provided.

Placement Experience

2.5

Placement record is not very good. most of the students are placed in TCS irrespective of their streams. No other company approaches for mechanical engineering placement. For cs there are some other companies like orange solutions, infosys. As for MBA the placement record is also not good and just a few company approaches.

College Events

3

There are multiple fests organized in college. The tech fest is called titiksha and takes place in the month of November. It is a 2 day fest which attract many nearby colleges. The cultural fest is known as resurgence and continues for a month. it begins in February. MBA fest is called tatva.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees structure is on the upper side i.e. the total fees per annum is rs 2,00,000. annual mess fee amounts to rs 30000 and hostel fees is rs 25000. the balance is the annual academic fees.An amount of rs 10,000 is deposited initially as the security deposit.

Fees and Financial Aid

I have not availed any scholarship till date but top 5% students of every class are provided with a 30% fees scholarship.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostel is quit good as compared to any government college hostel. The rooms are quit big in size with clean corridors and bathrooms. Utilities provided in the room are also adequate. The mess food is satisfying and better than any other mess. As being pure vegetarian no provision for non-veg is there.

Alumni/Alumna

As of current the alumni network of the college is quit weak. A number of measures are needed to be taken to connect the alumnis. The alumni try to help in any way they can.

Exam Structure

The exam structure is a chilled out one. The labs are also few in number. In a semester you got 2 minors and 1 major. Minors take place at a gap of 1 month and the major occurs at the end of semester. Each minor carry a weight age of 20% and major got weightage of 50%. The lab takes place every week for 2 hours.

Admission

I got admission in the spot round of AIEEE 2012 via ccb counselling. A day was assigned to submit the original documents in the college. After the documents and fees submission we were immediately allotted the rooms and given our curriculum. Internal sliding takes place when the admission process is over and the left over seats are filled by Jammu students by filling a form.

Faculty

2

The faculty is the negative part of the college. Most of the faculty is new and lack experience in teaching. Only basic topics are taught and the higher level portions are skipped. Very little practical knowledge is provided during the whole course. The faculty even lacks in taking any initiative for organizing any event. The final projects given are mostly waste of time.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is quiet relevant it covers all the important subjects and topics.I chose the Ece branch as the demand of semiconductors is rising in the future. The curriculum perpares us well for real world applications. The course teaches us a lot of outdated concepts but it misses out to teach about what is happening in the world right now. So the course can involve a lot of topics that are in trend.

Highest package is of 45 lpa and lowest of 8 lpa. There is 100% placements of students from core branches. After i get my degree i want to work in a tech company and learn about technology.

Placement Experience:

Placemets start right from your 7th semester. Most comapnies that would come here would be like vedanta , ashok leyland etc etc who mainly do mass hiring, th no of offers are quite low as for durig my time most companies qul do diversity and hiring would only select girls and the girls were low in numbers as compared to the boys so each girl recieved atleast 2-3 offers while rarely a boy would even rev=cieve a single offer. The highest package was offered by Vedanta but it was 13 lpa in ct in hand it would be arond 5-6 lpa , the average package was also the same around 5-6 lakhs per annum. Percentage of students placed would be around 30 percent but they inflated the numbers heavily but showing only the students who were eleigible as boys were mostle ineligible. My plans are to look for masters somewhere abroad.
