Silicon institute of technology takes admission through both jee score and ojee. Those who are from within the state are given specific state quotas and they can also avail for their respective caste-based divisions. Having a jee main's rank under 3lakhs can help u to get a computer science branch in this college and with further ranks, u can avail the other branches available. Ojee starts its counseling during July to August where students can apply for the same. There r three options given to choose your branch and u can also upgrade your branch in furthere levels of counseling. Apart from jee score, many students who have been given the Odisha joint entrance examination can apply for the same. The counseling consists of three rounds in which you need to pay an amount of nearly 4000 to take part in the counselling after which a certain amount is refunded to the student .

There is no difference between the curriculum of computer science and technology and computer science and engineering in this college. The syllabus of both these branches is the same. So there is no big difference apart from the course structure of the 3rd and 4th years. There are approx 150 faculty members and well qualified. All the facilities are Ph.D. from a well know institute and have high knowledge for students to distribute to. The facilities are even very light to the students and are understanding too. The college conducts 2 term-end examinations every year and the examination are fair. Silicon is very known for its strict examination conduction. There is a separate examination section where students facing any trouble can get through it. During the covid period, the exams were conducted online mode but were fair and didn't give any chance to question the institute.

Machine learning, artificial intelligence are some of the courses offered and project on the same is done by the students. The college itself provides internships and also gives off-campus internship opportunities to students.

The students are placed from the 5th semester. Many companies visit the college and many students get selected from all branches with great payscale approx 80% students who r eligible get placed in the college.

The fees are very nominal the is 150000 as the tuition fees the college charges. Further, the college gives scholarships to the top performers in the examinations every year. The college campus is currently by cybercity, info city, TCS so provides job opportunities to students in terms of placements.

The college conducts various fest every year which are eye-catching.it gives many the opportunity to showcase their talent. There is a big Central library present from where students can borrow books as per need. The classroom is AC classes with full new feature furniture and chairs. There is a silicon students council which is worked and run by the students and various clubs like heritage. meta, youth, sports, art and culture, and even more to develop.

The rooms are enough big to accommodate 3 members and provide both joint and separate bathrooms, the room is both ac and non AC rooms, the room consists of 3 members provided with almirahs and a balcony. Water filters are at every spot and geysers are fixed to give the weather changes required for water. Registration in the hostel is done through the admission time itself.
