experiences from NSSCE life

Admission to any professional engineering college is purely through KEAM but managements seats are also available in the case of aided college and private colleges here I was admitted to college by clearing the entrance exam with the required cut-off and got a seat in the most demanding as well as prestigious department i.e civil engineering department. The admission was quite in a well-disciplined manner for the admission we have to submit our keam mark sheet along with rank sheet, plus two as well as tenth mark sheet, also by filling the application form, etc and we have some amount for the PTA fund as it is mandatory later on we will be headed to add up further details on the official website of KTU regarding our marks on keam +2,10th and our personal details, etc which are necessary for our profile updation once it is done, the whole admission procedure will be completed.

I opted for civil engineering in NSSCE as it is one of the best departments with highly experienced faculty . The whole department includes highly qualified as well as experienced teachers of Ph.D. holders and the whole department includes 2 batches with min total of 120 students . we are having 8 semesters which includes theory as well as practicals for both we are having separate teachers i.e subjectwise teachers will be available for lab also but we will have lab assistants who will be much more aware of types of equipment and tests that we have to perform and will be guided by them throughout the whole cycle. The series test as well both practicals are conducted, series will be conducted as per the university procedure, i.e by the KTU calendar ( A P J ABDUL KALAM TECHNOLOGICAL UNIVERSITY) moreover the whole syllabus and practicals will be completed within the time limit As per the rule 2 series test are conducted sometimes more are conducted but 2 tests are mandatory,

we will have an internship after our 1st year which is mandatory as per our university rules but apart from that, we can go for several internships with our interest in any of the semesters that may help us to improve our practical knowledge and also we will be much aware of the site condition as I belong to civil branch it's very important to have an idea about the site conditions.

The placement cell is highly active in our college for computer science , electronics , and electrical departments and slightly good for mechanical department plenty of reputed companies hire the BTech graduates with a min salary package around 3.5 lakh per annum. Tata group, Wipro Infosys, Alstom, and many more companies hire graduates from here students from 4thyear can sit for placements but placements that are available for civil students are very less the salary package available is also very less as I am civil batch graduate from NSSCE the packages that were provided were literally poor expect the Tata and Wipro group we have only fewer options, maximum of 7 companies among that 2or3 do not belong to our core . But overall placement rate in NSSCE is high . after graduation I will opt for further higher studies then prefer to become govt officer

As it is aided college we will only have the university tuition fee yearly it will be around 31281 it may vary also when the university changes the fee structure and the SC, ST, OCE students are exempted from paying the fees . still, we are lucky that as we have only to pay this much as it is very low when we compare the amount that the private college students are paying . moreover, several grants ( scholarships) are provided to the students like E grants and for those who are having low annual income but belong to the general category, they are benefited from scholarships that are called up for them apart from that when the student is admitted with high entrance rank as per the ktu rules they are benefited with fee confession even if they belong to general category. I was benefitted with e-grants.

campus life in NSSCE is outstanding as we are really get exposed to the technical events in the tech fest conducted by the college (dyuksha) we will get many opportunities to participate as well organize the event . It's my personal experience because I have conducted a cad workshop as part of the tech fest 2018 and also I have been, one of the department tech event coordinators in 2018. cultural fest ( nooparam) is also conducted in our even semester it also provides an opportunity for the students to lead the event as I was the one among the three civil department coordinators in 2018. sports fest cricket, football tournaments, etc are conducted apart from that student's club are available as EDC NSS UNITS are available.NSSCE also have department libraries and a central library, digital library, etc with wonderful reference book which are extremely useful. classroom are well equiped with neccessties

College hostels are provided from the 2nd year of college it lasts till the 4th year for first-year students they provide working women hostels in order to avoid raging . I have been in working women hostel in 1st year the quality of food was ok , after that, I opted for a rented room there menu was also good it was personal decision to take rented room rather than opting for college hostel. college hostel food is good and accommodation and room space are average .
