Course Curriculum Overview

This course is meant for those who have passed the Higher Secondary Examination conducted by the West Bengal council of Higher Secondary Education or an equivalent examination.Each course is divided into four semesters.Candidate fulfilling the following marks criteria may apply for admission provided they have passed the H.S.or equivalent examination.

Class Size: 70Course Fees: INR 600 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

Quite a number of stipends, scholarship,free- Studentship and half-free student ship are granted to meritorious students in terms of the endowment and government regulations. There is a student's Aid Fund to help poor and needy students.

For post graduate and Undergraduate honours course's students 4 books for 1 month. The Library offers reading room facility to bona fide students against valid identity proof. The Redding Room remains open from 5.30 p.m.

Placement Experience:

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Companies coming to campus like TCS,Wipro,Deloitte,Biocon,Pfizer. 4. Deperments with strong placement cells secure 10-15 offers per company, depending on batch size. 5. 8-10LPA Highest package offered by Leading companies and 4-5LPA Average package offered by companies. 6. 60-80% of students getting placements. i am interested in Ph.D. programs for research positions.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.

Hooghly Mohsin College - Geology Department

You've to pass the 12th Examination with a science background and the marks you've got in the 10th Examination in Geography are also needed for preparing the merit list. Every year after the announcement of the State Board result college issues a notice for new admission and you can find it on the college website. It's a govt college so the fees structure for each and every course is very low.
