Remarks

The admission process is based on the Kerala engineering entrance examination called KEAM. The application forms are available on the keam website. Reservation is available for minority categories like OBC, OEC and SC, ST categories.

Course Curriculum Overview

I opted for electronics and communication engineering because I got it. There are a total of 60 seats available for students. More than 25 faculty members are there in the department. Each of the faculty members are well qualified.

Class Size: 47Course Fees: INR 35000 per year

Internships Opportunities

A variety of internship oppurtunities are available for the students.Big companies like google, microsoft, tcs, IBM, etc offer placement opportunities. Students prefer machine learning and artificial intelligence mostly.

Placement Experience

Students can sit for placement since the seventh semester. So many multinational companies visit the college every year. Major companies are tcs, infosys, wipro etc. About 60% of the students get placement every year with a package of 8 lakh per year.

Fees and Financial Aid

The semester fee is 35000. The fee waiver is available for OEC and SC-ST students and also for high-scored students. Various scholarships are available for OBC, OEC, and SC-ST students like egrantz for paying thier fee

Campus Life

There are a variety of programmes conducted every year. It inculdes arts, freshers day, union day, sports, Onam celebrations, Christmas celebrations. IEEE and IEDC are various clubs in the college. There is a vast central library in the college.

Placement Experience:

we are eligible for placement from the 7th sem. Many famous and small compines vist our college. Infosys, WIPRO, TCS vist our college. But the big companies take only few student. Highest package was 1,00,000. And the average package is around 4,00,000. Almost all students gets placed from the campus .

My Experience at NIT Calicut

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the EEE course curriculum around 8-8.5 /10 in terms of relevance.The curriculum provides strong fundamentals in core electrical engineering subjects and prepares students well for core jobs and higher studies.The course curriculum was revised in 2023, and our batch is the 1st batch under the new curriculum. however, there are still limited coding ,AI and data science subjects in EEE ,which could be improved. Exams are conducted times per semester and are generally moderately difficult.
