Our admission was based on the hsc percentage. Cut off the list was been put on the website by the college and waiting list too. I was selected on the basis of the waiting list and was allocated my subjects on the basis of seat availability.

Rising demand of mathematics and statistics made me choosing it. I noticed the demand of mathematics in India as well as abroad. And mathematics being a subject of my interest I chose it. Statistics was new for me with some basic ideas but exploring more and more attracted me towards it

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose Biotechnology because it is a multidisciplinary field. We get to study not only topics related to biotechnology but also biochemistry, bio physics, bio informatics, bio statistics, etc. Mostly everything that is essential for future exams is taught during the span of 3 years. The topics of the units are taught in depth but the questions asked during exams are comparatively easy as to what all we studied. The frequency of the exam is, 1 internal exam which consists of both mcqs and written exam, the semester exam for each semester and practical exams for each subject. If u have studied then you will be able to attempt the questions.

Placement Experience:

My college gives campus placement placement opportunities typically after 4th semester, which is the 2nd half of the 2nd year. As my college has a partnership with IBM so the standards of campus placement go right up as the placement depends on the curriculum performance of the student so can't really say much for this. If saying as a stalemate, getting a placement is basically confirmed if the student maintains his/her CGPA of 6-7, which shows the consistent of the student in their field.

If you have passed Class XII in Science stream from a recognized baord you are eligible to apply for admission for the B.Sc courses. Admission to B.Sc courses of Hislop College is based on the merit of the qualifying examination. With a score above 80% marks in aggregate, your chances of getting admission is high.
