Course Curriculum Overview
The Course Curriculum is good and very detailed & approachable for the students there is also a research and development center here which is handled by our college. The students who are interested can participate. The aim of research and development (R&D) is to improve the current technologies offered by an organisation or to develop innovations that strengthen the organisation’s position in the marketplace. The sector includes many companies that are dedicated research and development businesses that focus on particular fields or areas of work. The pace of technology development is relentless. Keep an eye on the websites of major R&D players within the Indian market and read industry publications related to your discipline to keep up to date with the latest developments in fields that interest you. Key drivers for change and development are typically based on commercial gain. However, climate change and directives such as the Bharat Electronic Limited (BEL) directive are emphasising the need for researchers to consider sustainability issues within their approach to innovation.
Internships Opportunities
No as per my knowledge no internship is provided by our college but as our college just got upgraded by NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) we expect it to start the internship program soon enough for the Students to join.

Faculty
Being a student of ECE department at HIT. Getting into a college basically depends on your own board results and so the best you can get depends just on your own result. If you trace of graph of college reputation vs reality, for almost all colleges, it will be linear. Except for few NITs and IITs which are reputed because of the name NIT and IIT itself but lack infrastructure or faculties to match its reputation. Haldia Institute of Technology as a whole I believe is really optimum considering its reputation no matter what students of the institution say. Its a common Indian 'attitude' to say ill of their own college (unless speaking to someone from some other college :P where now people try their best to prove that their college is the best :P ) Now leaving the reputation and say-ill parameter aside, speaking as an electronics department student, I would like to add a few positive points about our department here. (And a disclaimer follows, I do not have any memories of my previous lives probably as an engineer, nor have I studied B.Tech twice with different colleges, so I cannot compare my college with any other college with complete assurance that I will be correct about whatever I speak well nobody can be in fact.) • We have some really good faculties that give you ample opportunities to work with them on projects. • Though we are not allowed to take hardware kits home for our projects, we have a lot of advanced as well as standard-old-ancient hardware kits that are available for us for use. Though I would also point that handling the 'authority' that permits you to use them can be tricky. There are lots of restrictions, yes. • Supporting project lab! • Industrial visits, sometimes to useful companies at the wrong time though. We were taken to a semiconductor industry dealing with PCBs in our semester if I remember the time right and we didn't have any knowledge of PCBs at that time, so we couldn't get the most out of it. Yea, some pointless company visits too. • Expert lectures. Most of the experts are industry people. So they don't always excel in terms of communication skills and people consider them boring and yes most of the time they are. But the point is that an industry person has definitely more practical knowledge than lecturers and you need to have patience and gather those useful bits of information.
