Remarks
Admission was through JEE mains score or Board percentage. You have to fill the application form on the Thapar website. There were 70% seats for JEE mains percentile and 30% reserved for the Board Percentage during the admission of the 2019 slot. 50% of seats are also reserved for Punjab domicile students.
Course Curriculum Overview
Computer Science Department is very good in Thapar with faculties that have expertise in almost every field and emerging technologies. The student ratio for the lab was around 30:1 and for the Lecture, it was around 100:1. All the teachers are PhD in Thapar and the teaching method was from slides.
Internships Opportunities
There are many internship opportunities available during the 3rd year. Companies like Adobe, DE Shaw, JP Morgan, Arcesium visit to hire the students in the 3rd year and the stipend offered is impressive.
Placement Experience
College provides placements after completion of 3rd year and the companies which visit for computer science are tremendous in quality and quantity. The average package for cse students varies from 8-10 lac.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees are increased every year and the average fees for my batch were around 2 lac per semester or 4 lac per year. Institute also provides scholarships to students that have a good percentile in JEE mains or in the first 10% of the students according to CGPA after 1st year.
Campus Life
Thapar campus is spread across 250 acres with many hostels and Academic buildings. There is Nava Nalanda Library which is very huge and contains almost every type of book. The library is equipped with all the modern infrastructure.
