Thapar University: A place to relive

So I was preparing for my Jee exam which don't go very well for me and I secured 71304 air. So with this rank, I have no hopes of getting any government colleges. So I went to Thapar. But in Thapar, there was also a very tough competition as I got a seat in the 5th round of my counselling. Yes, there was a cutoff for these university students also which kept on decreasing as the seats got filled. In the first round around ranks below 40000 got seats allocated and in the subsequent rounds within 10000 students those who applied got selected and so on and I got my seat at the 5th round.

I have chosen B.E because I have a very keen interest in learning the computer related technologies like AI, Algorithms, Machine learning etc so I decided to choose BTech. In my college around 1:30 is a teacher to student ratio. The faculty is highly qualified as most of the teachers have done PhD. They have a very good grasp of their topics but there was some lack in the practical lab sessions which our college needs to improve. The exams were not tough at all. There were some subjects which you didn't like but some subjects are also very interesting. So the subjects which were not so interesting I read previous year papers of them and get the important topics and it was a fair bit of easy deal for me to get the good marks and for other good subjects, I studied them and got great marks. So I used to start studying 1 month before my exam.

The fee structure of Thapar is very high which may affect the middle class family but there is also some scholarships offered by the university such that if you got a good grade like 9.5 or above. You may get half of your fee off which was a great deal. My friends also get benefited from it.

The overall campus life at Thapar is very good. The surrounding area and the infrastructure made is of a great level. Our library is one of the most beautiful things in the college to visit. There are also some developer societies like Microsoft student learn etc and some dance and other activities societies like mudra and some women empowerment societies like Girluptiet which is very good. The sports culture in our university is up to the next level. There are almost every sport like cricket ground, basketball court, football ground, lawn tennis court, badminton court, swimming pool etc all the things are maintained and is very beautiful to watch and play. There also held an annual athletic meet in university.
