Remarks
It's a post-graduate program, so you need a bachelor's degree and after that, you have to appear for an entrance test. You can take CAT, XAT, CMAT or GMAT for your application and MAT as well in certain courses. If you are eligible you'll be shortlisted for GD/PI after which will get a call. You will apply through the BIMTECH site and get a form for Rs.2000 which includes your past academics and work experiences. the forms are open from December and stay open till March. There is an NRI quota which you can avail of, the fees for which goes up to 21l. The cutoff was 95%ile in CMAT for the PGDM program in 2020. The batch of 2021 got admission at 88%ile and 80%ile in CAT. The admission process should put emphasis on not what you know but what you are willing to learn and should promote career options and how their institute can help the student in his or her future growth as a manager. The interviewers should also give more situational questions which test the analytical thinking.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose the course because of the alumni circle and family friends who have friends who were BIMTECH students. In total there are about 50 faculty members with certain external or guest faculty members. The faculty members are good and have a lot of industry exposure. All the faculty members are PHDs or doctoral students or research scholars. The term exams are tricky and application-based and focus on what the industry application of the course is. The exams are as per the course plan.
Internships Opportunities
Companies like Infosys and banks come for internships and sales profiles might give the students 12000 or so. Projects are primarily of market research and analysis and data visualization. Maybe B2B sales and pitch deck making.
Placement Experience
Students are eligible for placement after 1st year and the placement process starts from then. Almost 80% of the students get placed by December, big companies like Infosys, KPMG, Deloitte, PwC, SBI cards visit the campus. Profiles offered range from Marketing to IT and the highest package was 12lakh.
Fees and Financial Aid
The base fee is 12Lakh for 2 years but since the hostel is mandatory and mess is mandatory, the total fee comes up to 16lakhs. There is a scholarship for rank holders every year and also students who got 85+ in CAT. The internship was unpaid.
Campus Life
Life on the campus is quite nice, you get to your classes in the morning and study till evening. apart from classes, you have several clubs and conduits you can be a part of and learn from your seniors by being in the organizing team of several events. There are fests like Prathiba and Vihaan which are conducted in January and February. Books and old question papers are available online and we get books from the library based on our trimesters and subjects. Classrooms are big and comfortable with online class support. A podcast is run by students under the name "CLASSROOM DIVE" for the students.
Hostel Facilities
The room has a bed, table, chair, and closet. There are 2 hostels and both have the same amenities. The menu is not repetitive but the food quality is decent. Hostels are mandatory for all the students and cost about 4 lakhs for 2 years.
Interview Experience
There was no GD but an extempore for which my topic was bankruptcy and frauds. It was online and on skype. The best way to prepare for it is to be fluent in your tone and understand your strengths and weaknesses.
