NIT Srinagar has one of the most beautiful campuses in India. It had lots of open spaces for outdoor activities, various labs for research and experimentation. Library of stacked with books. The overall infrastructure is great.
Course Curriculum Overview
Exams were conducted on time. Even though our batch lost more than half a year to COVID lockdown, the management was still able to complete the first year within six months. Online exams aren't that difficult to pass.
Internships Opportunities
There are various internship opportunities available in college. It is handled by the Department of Trainings and Placements. These are generally available after the 4th semester. Second-year students can go for winter internships.
Placement Experience
Students get placed on campus after the 7th semester. Various PSUs, tech companies like Samsung etc offer on campus placements. This year, a CSE student got 50lpa placement offers from Samsung. Last year, Mechanical student got 22lpa.
Fees and Financial Aid
If you belong to a low-income category, you can apply for NSP on the NSP portal website. College authorities are very cooperative in the whole process. You can also go for paid internships in your second and third year
Campus Life
There are various clubs in NIT Srinagar. TORUS Club is run by Mechanical students. There are a few art clubs as well, which hold art competitions regularly. Coding clubs like hackathons hold coding competitions.
Hostel Facilities
Hostels are spacious and comfortable. Everybody can afford them. Internet facility is provided in every room. Mess food is very diverse to cater to students from different cultures. Security is tight.
