Anonymous's Review On THDC Institute Of Hydro Power Engineering And Technology, Garhwal

As it's a government college and also one of it's kind as it's Asia's 2nd hydropower engineering college. And also with the marks i had got in AIEEE 2011 it seems to be a perfect choice for me. Secondly i do not belong to a wealthy family and my parents cannot afford private college fees and this college doesn't charge a hefty fee which attracted me .

Course curriculum was alike every other engineering college with tight schedules, lots of assignments, practicals . Also as it was a new college infra is pretty good with most faculties with no experience and some have good amount of experience in teaching. Mr. Chinappan bhaskar our college admin incharge who is also a chemistry faculty there. He has quite a got way teaching students and his classes seems to be more interactive rather than dull and boring .

We have been offered internships in THDC INDIA LIMITED but i had some other plans in mind and i had done my internship from uttrakhand power corporation limited, haldwani substation.

Job opportunities during my time is not good but nowadays i had heard that number of good companies with attractive packages come there and hire students. Cognizant visited there in 2015 .It was hiring students from all streams and giving package of 3.15 lakhs on an average. As we were the pioneer batch students so there is no chance of any alumini there before us.

Our college organise cultural fest called ESCALADE in which students from other colleges comes to participate in various events like singing, dancing, band performance, quizes, etc. Also as i am from the pioneer batch of the college therefore we had to arrange for most part of it.

Not know about any loan facility but there is a scheme called tution fee waiver scheme in which if your family annual income is less than 3 lakhs then you can apply for it and no tuition fee would be taken from you.

College is quite good with new infra but as the college is situated on the mountain top therefore it has limited space for sports activities. Rest all facilities are present with a good nature view .Labs and workshops are also present with new equipments. Classes are also spacious with good quality furniture. Also there is 24 x7 surveillance done through cctv cameras in the college .

No i had not opted for hostel there but let me tell you hostel is very nice with spacious rooms and good food. Hostel rooms are sharing with 2 students in one room and as the hostels are newly made therefore there is no problem regarding any water leakage, electricity, etc . Infra is quite good and i can say by the way it is build i would stay strong for a good amount of time.There is also RO facility present in hostel but i can say that the tap water is also drinkable as it is coming straight from Himalayas.
