Remarks

Sivanath Sastri College is the morning division of South City College.It is one of the reputed and best college for commerce in kolkata.It is a full time 3year course. Faculties here are also good and few are also very friendly. Also at the end of this course placements by good companies are also provided to the meritorious and deserved students.

Course Curriculum Overview

Yes we are often given exposure to different activities related to our academics.Almost all the faculties are good except few.They are friendly enough so that we can approach them whenever we need them.

Course Fees: INR 32000 per year

Placement Experience

Placements are provided at the ending of the course only to few meritorious and deserved students as far as I know.Good companies provide opportunities like TCS. I have no idea about how good is the alumni networking for job referrals.

College Events

College organizes really good events in a very good manner. It has a huge number of participation in different activities,everyone is given chance to showcase their talent. The festivals here are also celebrated in a grand way especially the holi,also the annual program.

Campus Life

Campus building is very old.Infrastructure is not so good.Classrooms donot have enough fans so its very difficult during summers to attend lectures.College has a good big library. The sports department is not so active,it could have been much better.Any information regarding any participation of program are also not circulated properly.It doesnot provide any wifi though not so needed.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.

Moderate College Life.

After HS I applied many colleges but I didn't got chance at the top notch colleges as they damand more marks than I got. After trying so many colleges I finally got admitted to this college.
