INDIAN MARITIME UNIVERSITY (IMU) is the only govt. Institute in india offering quality maritime training to candidates aspiring to become a merchant navy officer/engineer. For a candidate seeking best maritime training and aspiring to become an officer/engineer in merchant navy, he/she may choose IMU. Talking about the courses offered, there is a general confusion among candidates on which course to opt for. So, for someone willing to become an engineer, must choose B.Tech( Marine Engineering) whereas B.Sc ( Nautical Science ) to be chosen for someone aspiring to become an officer.
Course Curriculum Overview
The nature of the course is such that it demands practical training much more than the theoretical part. The training imparted is of highest degree which helps candidates in future endeavours. The faculties are highly qualified and experienced.
Placement Experience
Almost 70 to 80 percent students are placed annually. The placement cell is quite diligent in their job. A no.of companies visit each year for campus placements. Efforts are made to increase the numbers both in companies visiting the campus as well as students getting placed.
College Events
The events and fests held are of national/internation level and helps candidates in developing various skills. The extracurricular activities helps in keeping mind and body fresh and active with other trainings in tandem.
