Remarks
NIT Calicut has one of the best Computer Science and Engineering Department in India. It has 100% placements for the CSE students. Lot of MNCs visit and hire from NIT Calicut. Started in 1961 as REC, it bolsters a large number of alumni all over the world which can be leveraged at any point of time.
Course Curriculum Overview
Faculty student ratio is about 1:25. Almost all of the faculty are Phds. We had two mid terms and and End semester. The exams are moderately difficult but some courses are really hard. Normally the end semester carries 50% weightage and all other exams, assignments, quizzes etc carries the other 50% weightage.
Placement Experience
NIT Calicut boasts one of the best placements among the NITs. Students can sit for companies in their third year for internships and in their final year for full time opportunities. Almost all of the students are placed and the rest are opting for higher studies at reputed institutes. I will be joining a product based company after my graduation.
Fee Structure And Facilities
There was no free hike during the time I studied. The fees were a nominal 125000/year. But you only had to pay either 45000/year or 5000/year depending on the income of your family. There are a lot of scholarship opportunities available for the students.
Campus Life
NIT Calicut has one of the largest number of students in any NITs. It hosts almost 6000 students at any time. This leads to having numerous clubs in the campus. The college fests, Ragam, the cultural fest and Tathva, the technical fests are considered to be the largest in South India. There are a lot of opportunities for students with different interests be it sports or other stuff.

Admission
There was no interview for the students who wrote JEE Mains. Normally students with great ranks in JEE Mains are admitted. There is also a state quota.
