SCC - BBA (Hons)

SCC is one of the prestigious names among Private colleges of Kolkata and its rankings have also been great. The college is given Grade A by NAAC and is affiliated to Calcutta University. Scottish Church College has been ranked among top 50 colleges consecutively from the last two years. Courses are available across different streams here while I opted for the BBA programme. The admission process for the course included an entrance exam followed by some further rounds.

The faculty is the main strength of this college & as 120+ teachers were there we had a healthy student/teacher ratio in the college. I personally enjoyed all academic arrangements made by SCC whether it was the curriculum or Competition/events organised. The quality of education was good and I think my decision to pursue my BBA(H) from this college was a wise one.

Internship opportunities were available in the college but I wasn't that interested in this round. Due to the same reason, I haven't participated in the internships but those who participated in the round & got job offers were pretty happy. However some of the participants didn't get work offer's.

SSC offer's courses across different domains and this is why recruiters from all those domains visit our college annually. During our placement drive,companies like PWD, Tech Solutions, Tata consultancy & Wipro visited the college and we recorded an average salary of INR 3.2 LPA.The overall placement percentage for our batch was around 75-80 % .

Fee was decent because it was quite the same as other colleges charge normally. The total fees for the 3 year course was INR 1.52 Lacs and as it had to be paid in annual shifts thus it got pretty nominal for me. Our college had scholarships for Minorities, Meritorious students and also for reserved categories but the condition was that applicants must have all required documents with them and fulfill the eligibility condition.

Our campus life is popular for its Annual fest which is organised for 4 consecutive days by the college. SCC has availability of Dance, Music, Painting,Debate and various other activities in which students can participate as per their wish. SCC campus has good internet connectivity and a large Library hall having over 1 Lakh books. Committees for all different Art's events along with the Placement cell and Student council are there at SCC, Kolkata. If a student loves campus events then SCC is arguably the best place for him/her.

The Hostels are of good condition and they are mostly availed by outstation students.Totally 3 hostels are there among which 2 are for boys. The facilities in the hostels help students to get a comfortable lifestyle. The rooms, mess and even the entertainment facilities are pretty good in the Hostels. Although I was a day scholar but I've only heard appreciation for the hostel facilities.

The college followed all the guidelines of Calcutta University for BBA (H) admission and that's why I firstly had to appear in the entrance test. After that, shortlisted candidates get to participate in the Group exercise and Interview organised. The college used to evaluate all these performances and then do final selections.
