Affordable, with nice campus life, studies, and good campus placement opportunities

I took admission here on the basis of my WBJEE results in 2018. My rank was within 17000 and I had got this stream from both the 2nd and 3rd rounds of counseling of WBJEE. In our time, the maximum cutoff for this stream was around I guess 25000 rank or so. We had visited the college with all my documents, had to meet the admission coordinator, and fill some anti-ragging forms and more formalities. Then we had to pay the 1st-semester fees, through demand draft and the final admission process was completed by the accounts department. Then we got our library cards from the library on the ground floor. Overall, the admission process was more or less smooth.

Actually, my 1st choice was ECE, in whichever college I would get into, in the choice list that had to be filled while counseling process was going on. But, after getting ECE at Meghnad Saha Institute of Technology in the 1st round, I waited and wanted to upgrade my seat. In the 2nd round, EIE at Techno Main Salt Lake came and the 3rd round also remained the same. I went for the mop-up round too to see if it could get better, at least the stream, but it remained the same. So I decided to join here itself in the assigned stream. Here, in our class, we had around 60 people at the start, though afterward, the number lessened down to 55-56 as some of them left and some others changed to other departments. We have around 8 faculty members in our department and in each year, the student count is around 60. The faculty members are well-qualified, and have good grasp on the different curriculum subjects that we have in our 4 years. The exams are also not that much tough to pass.

Internship opportunities are available for students who crack jobs at Cognizant, TCS, and so on. The average stipend is around 12k per month for GenC profile in Cognizant. Projects are mainly on web development, or AI, ML.

Before the 6th-semester exams start in August, the campus placements start in the month of July. Recruiters like TCS, Cognizant, EY, Accenture, L&T Infotech, Byju's visit the campus, and numerous students get offers. The average package is around 4-5 lpa, with the highest being of TCS Digital cadre which offers 7 lpa for its Systems Engineer profile(which I myself have secured through the Digital test). Besides these big names, other startups and small companies also visit and hire on-campus. More or less 90% of students get placed by the end of the final year. After getting the degree, I intend to do my Masters(M. Tech.) in a chosen field of mine or an MBA, whichever is comfortable and suitable for me while I continue my job at TCS.

The total fee is around 4 lakhs for the 4-year BTech courses. The 1st semester fees are around 75000/-, then in the 2nd semester it is around 62000/- and then from the 2nd year its around 47000/- or 46000/-. The TFW category is also there, for low-income family students who can't afford the high general category fees. The placement opportunities are very good here, this being the main campus of the Techno India Group.

Coming to fests, first of all, comes the Freshers' Welcome organised by Team Anakhronos. The comes Anakhronos, the official cultural fest of our college, organised by Anakhronos, the cultural club in the month of March every year, which was organised in September last year. Then there is EDGE, the technical fest, conducted by Geekonix, the science and technology club, in the month of April every year. Besides these, we have Eclectica, the literary fest, organized by Eclectica, the literary club, in the month of July and Philanthropia, a fest organised by Samaritans, the social service club in the same month. Apart from these, there is Samarth(civil service club). There are also alumni meets and departmental fests organised by different departments on their own. Plenty of books, journals, and newspapers are available in the library. Also, the classrooms and labs are well-equipped, spacious, and well-ventilated. Sports, cricket, and football tournaments are organized once every year.
