Remarks
IIIT Nagpur is one of the new members of the IIIT family. I was allotted the college after my JOSAA counselling. After my allotment, I found that Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) is its flagship course so it was a plus point for me. The candidate must pass JEE exam and must secure 75% in 10+2 and then attend the JOSAA counselling. The admission department is quite friendly and the admission process is very smooth.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is designed according to industrial standards and is regularly updated to meet industrial challenges. CSE is the flagship course of the college so you should not doubt the curriculum of the college. I choose CSE because it has more scope. The curriculum is designed to impart students with practical knowledge and to develop them as future industry leaders.
Internships Opportunities
TCS is the partner of the college under the PPP scheme and so most of the students of our batch were granted internships from TCS. Around 20 companies also voted the campus during the internship program and the stipend varies from company to company. The stipends range from Rs. 10000/- to Rs 95000/- depending on the term of your internship.
Placement Experience
The college also provides a good placement all thanks to the placement committee of the college. The committee is not only hardworking but very supportive they guide the students throughout the placement process and help students to get placed in their desired company. Companies like Goldman Sachs, Amazon, Microsoft, TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Tech Mahindra, Oracle, etc visited our campus during the placement drive. The highest package for our batch was 4405 LPA and the average package was around 8.27 LPA. I also received a package of 15 LPA from TCS.
Fees and Financial Aid
Scholarships program is available in the college for merit and underprivileged students. College does not provide direct scholarships but state and central government scholarships are available. Campus Life
The camp[us life of the college is decent enough. The college keeps on organizing small events timely and also celebrates the festive season of India. Fests like TantraFiesta-technical fest and Abhivyakti-cultural fest are the two main fests of the college. The classrooms are big enough to accommodate 100 students at a time. There is also a skilled club at the college called "Skills Night" where you can learn new skills and polish your skills.
Hostel Facilities
The rooms are available on sharing basis and each room is shared by 4 students. The rooms are equipped with separate study tables for every student, almirahs, and beds. The food of the mess is also good. The hostel is well maintained and rooms are regularly cleaned on daily basis. The college is also equipped with 24 hours WiFi facility.
Faculty
The faculty of the college are smart and quite experienced. The faculties are of Ph.D. level and their teaching methods can be easily understandable. The faculty and student interaction are good and students can easily approach teachers to clear their doubts.
