Remarks
The admission process was as smooth as it was conducted by National Testing Agency. You need to appear for JEE MAINS and get a pretty good rank. Application fees are around 1000. You will get the reservation benefit if you are a permanent resident of Himachal Pradesh or have completed your 10th & 12th from HP. The admission process is already online now so it is quite easy now.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose computer science basically on my senior suggestions and turned out to be a good decision. Faculty: Student Ratio is quite fair. It is almost 10:1 in my branch. All the faculties are well qualified as most of them are PhD holders. Term exams were monthly, midterm and end term. The exams were not easy to pass if you have no idea about the syllabus.
Internships Opportunities
There are multiple options for internships. You need to be connected with your seniors for a better opportunity. The normal course curriculum is good for preparing for placement. You can get the opportunity from faculty as well of your respective branches.
Placement Experience
The students start getting placed from the 7th semester of their course as company starts to arrive. For computer science, there are ample opportunities and there is the placement of almost 90% every year. The highest placement on campus can go up to 30-40 LPA where there are examples of off campus placement of nearby 70-80 LPA. The average package is somewhere around 4-5 LPA. I dropped the campus placement for my studies.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees Structure are quite high now but there are multiple scholarship opportunities for financially challenged students. They are government funded and public private partnerships as well. There are options for education loans as well on the low or negligible interest rate.
Campus Life
There are two fests in a calendar year. One is the cultural fest and that is very happening while the other one is technical Fest which invites multiple colleges for the activities and competition. The library is rich with course books and referral books. Classrooms are well equipped with smart boards. Sports and extracurricular activities are also periodical. You will get many chances. There are multiple social groups and clubs with different departments.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel facility was super and the rooms were spacious and well furnished. Meals are delicious and on time. you will get a healthy and nutritious lifestyle. The registration process for a hostel is simple. You can just go and connect the warden at the warden office. You will not be needed to rent a PG, there is enough space for everyone.
