College Entrance conducted by Siliguri College under University of North Bengal. Based on my higher secondary marks and entrance score, I was selected in the hons course.
Course Curriculum Overview
Three years course. Total eight papers. Part-I consists of four papers to be completed in first two years and Part-II consists of four papers to be completed in one year.
Internships Opportunities
My experience in college is very good. I was selected for half-pay scholarship. During our time, Siliguri college academically was not that famous, moreover students were not career oriented compared to current scenario. However, overall experience was good.
Placement Experience
There was no scope for placement in our college. Passed out students usually discussed amongst themselves and applied individually. There was no web portal that time, most of the time news papers were the source of career information.
College Events
College events were celebrated with great enthousiasm. Pandal was erected during annual day. Big function used to be organised by the student union with the help of college authority and famous vocal artists used to come and performed.
Fees and Financial Aid
No there was no scope of loan facility since our college was semi-government and was aided by both from State Government as well as UGC.
Campus Life
When we were studing there was hardly any scope to enjoy campus life. General courses used to be tought there. No professional courses was available during our time. However, we used to take part in sports, lab activities. Lab activities were compulsory and every one had to qualify in each lab test.
Alumni/Alumna
I still remember my good old days. There is hardly any connection with alumni of Siliguri College. I am settled now in Delhi and am far off from Siliguri college. But I would happily communicate with alumni would help Siliguri College if requires.
Exam Structure
Examination used to be conducted regularly. Every year two examinations used to be held on each paper and these were conducted by the college authorities. Only Part-I and Part-II examinations were conducted by the University and degree was awarded.
