Remarks
I took admission in BSc. Hons Microbiology. The eligibility criteria and admission were based on 12 standard marks in the PCB combo ( marks percentage for admission is calculated for only three subjects that is physics, chemistry and biology only ). They don't add any language. The application form can be found on du.ac.in. When I applied the fee for the application was 100rs. I belong to the OBC quota so I got 1 % relaxation in cut off. I have experience of offline admission which were nice.
Course Curriculum Overview
I was interested in microbes and they benefit industrially so I opted for the course. There are 10 teachers for 90 students with 5-6 lab staff. All teachers are PhD in their respective fields and they teach very well. But some of them uses a PowerPoint presentation to just read which is not a good way. The term exams are held on time for all students of DU according to the curriculum. Exams were not difficult to pass if you listen in the class and go through the syllabus. You can take help from the previous year question papers.
Internships Opportunities
For science students, there are projects under the scheme pathfinder. They provide you with projects and teachers helps you with them and you got a chance to present your project and may get a publication if everything went well.
Placement Experience
From the 5th semester, students are eligible for placement. As I sat for placements no knowledge about that. But all these things can be checked on the official page of Gargi college. The highest package is around 5-6lakh per annum. A very less percentage of students from science gets placement. It's not an ideal place for those looking for placement. I went for MSC.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee was very less. It was 11k for the whole year including examination fees and all. They provide some scholarships. I didn't get any job there because I didn't apply only. It depends on the person if they are able to grab an opportunity.
Campus Life
Annual fest: Reverie ( held in January). Almost all the books required for the course are available in the library. There are lots of sports and extracurricular activities in College. There is a separate sports day celebration. There is yoga, badminton, volleyball, cricket etc.
