IIIT Sri City for your engineering academics

IIIT Sri City is the institute of national importance declared by the board of education in India. It offers good quality of education with low cutoffs and hence, students with less scores in their JEE can apply here. It is an institute developed by the public-private partnership with the government of Andhra Pradesh. It is basically known for its computer science and electrical engineering courses. The cutoff for computer science and engineering here is 20315. One can apply from its online web portal. The application is based on the JEE Mains rank and the JoSAA counselling done by the board of seat administration. The cutoffs are totally gender-neutral. After being shortlisted, the candidate receives a mail from the university for a letter of acceptance by the college.

The curriculum was more theoretical, but we got live-projects to work on and create a good portfolio for further placements. This curriculum has modules like Introduction to programming, computational mathematics, discrete mathematics, web development, algorithms and data structures, software design and development, agile software projects, machine learning and neural networks, virtual reality, artificial intelligence, games development, 3D graphics and animation, mobile development, intelligent signal processing, etc. The faculty is well-educated and takes on lectures in-depth. The faculty-student ratio is 10:1.

The IIIT Sri city campus has witnessed colossal records of recruitment from unicorn startups and excellent companies over the course of the last 3 years. Recruiting companies were Amazon, Flipkart, Infosys, Larson and Toubro, TCS, HSBC, Honeywell, Michelin, Cisco, Hyundai, Value Momentum, etc. They were recruited for positions like software developer, web developer, computer systems analyst, etc. The highest package was 21 lakh per annum. Students who were not placed went to foreign universities for further studies, like the University of Texas, University of Southern California, North Carolina State University, etc.

The candidates studying at IIIT Sri City get can get scholarships from the government of India. This scholarship is offered separately to SC/ST students and the other scholarships are reserved for the need-based general category students. It is provided by the ministry of tribal affairs named as a National Fellowship and scholarship for the higher education of ST students. The students wanting to avail of the scholarship can apply at the National scholarship portal. Students ineligible for this aid can either go for external scholarships or bank loans that can easily be repaid after graduation or placements.

The campus life here was quite studious since the students were even found studying after-class and were indulged in projects, and other assignments. However, there were recreational facilities like the cricket ground, futsal court, basketball court, volleyball court, throwball ground, carom board, chess, etc. Every year, tournaments are organized with students of IISER University from all its branches. The library here has a capacity of 2650 books regarding core courses and current policies. The gyan-circle is the startup cell wherein the students spend their time in their future ventures.
