Remarks
I got admission with the general category, 94.6% marks in PCM in the 3rd cutoff list. College doesn't release its own application. You have to apply via common application at the University website, submitting basic details, marks, documents and select course.
Course Curriculum Overview
The physics department has a good number of qualified teachers but I personally think that you have to work a lot on your own, even for basic knowledge and understanding. Labs are fully furnished but there's not some sort of 'learning' happening. It's more like ticking off assignments and files and tasks one after the other. Students end up searching for a way to score in theory as well as practical exams because that's what all can be done rather than an abundance of self-study which is quite impractical too. Exams and assignments are timely organised and are scoring
Fees and Financial Aid
I had to pay fees of around 10k for the first year and later there was a hike of 4k. I had applied for Inspire scholarship but couldn't get one, being from CBSE, it's a bit hard. Many of my classmates coming from state boards were getting it for all three years. There is no great availability (almost null) of campus-based internships, placements, scholarships, etc. Students have to search for other govt based or NGO based financial aids.
Campus Life
Zistatva, the Diwali Mela, basically the annual fest of NSS, is organised around Diwali in October. Reverie is the annual, 3 days fest of college, organised at the end of January or starting of February. Both of the fests are too notch in the entire DU circuit due to their vibe, management, star-night, DJ, crowd, in fact everything. The Library of college is huge and spacious and provides almost all the syllabus books required. Also, the staff and librarian are cooperative so it has been helpful in a huge way. Recently, in 1-2 years, students have fought and finally established White Rose Club, for LGBTQ students and it is working really well. Almost all of the societies are properly led by student heads and active in a positive and path-breaking manner.
