Remarks
Admission here depends on your JEE Main (Conducted every year by NTA) Rank and can take benefit of few reservations like Home state quota, Girls quota, Caste based quota and you can not directly apply as admission is done using JOSAA as in every other IIT and NIT all over India. Other document related formalities was smoothly conducted and there are peoples who take responsibilities of such tasks in the college.
Course Curriculum Overview
I am in Computer science department and curriculum here focuses on overall coverage of topics in th field though it feels a bit outdated as we focus on more of theory here than working on real life applications.Faculty and student ratio is around 1:120 as of our batch but professors handle nicely as they are well qualified to do their job atleast ample of them. There is also reviewing done for faculty throughout the college every semester. There are two main exams in a semester one is mid semester and other is end semester and are generally not so difficult to pass.
Internships Opportunities
Internships are relatively less focused here in campus by placement cell but there are handsum of stopend given to those who get from campus. Percentage of Students who get internships off-campus are more than who get on-campus as Internships opportunities are competitive in the campus.
Placement Experience
College have training and placement cell which handles the internship and placement related matter n the campus. Placements starts duing starting months of 7th semester of Bachelors. Placement in IT companies are relatively easier than in core companies. Companies like Paytm, Samsung, Wipro, Wellsfargo, Gap, Oracle come almost every year for placements. Highest package around 16lpa on-campus and but average placement is less than 10lpa as percentage of students getting placed in IT companies are more than in core companies that too on a less package, This is why students from core go for exams like GATE.
Fees and Financial Aid
We are charged fees similar to other NITs and is around 70000 per semester but varies on the category of student mainly their family income. Students can get any government scholarship easy based on caste as they are displayed on notice board of hostels. There is also loan facility available from SBI within campus and are not much of a headache while applying.
Campus Life
College is full of buzz all round the year be it cultural fest like Hillfair during fall, technical fest like Nimbus during spring, hackathons and other technical as well as fun events from different societies and clubs and also sports event like lalkar. Library is sufficient to catter the needs of students during semesters as well as before exams. Classroom is well equiped with required facilities and spaces to accomodate students of all years.There are numerous of clubs and societies in the campus active for the whole year like Robotics Society, Spec, ISTE, and technical clubs who are active during tech fest only.
Hostel Facilities
Hostels are also good with respect to facilities provided but there are some issues with number of students in a room in some hostels which will be addressed in coming years, mess is also fine in terms of food hygiene and workers behavior. Hostels are alloted during semester registration using an additional charges for mess of 25000 per semester.
