Remarks
Candidate needs to appear in JEE Main exam and the seat is allotted according to all India ranks and the process is carried out by JOSAA in 7 rounds. For admission, you have to physically report to the institute.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is a bit old but it is better as it's an NIT I personally chose this course because I have an interest in Mechanical Engineering. The faculty here is well qualified and knowledgeable and they tend to support students but you have to put in your efforts. Exams and other academic activities are well scheduled and are of a decent level.
Internships Opportunities
Several companies come for taking interns and they take aptitude test and interviews for sortlisting. Students can also apply for internship in IITs, IISCs etc. One can also do internship in college under faculty members.
Placement Experience
Campus placement is above average as it's an NIT. Students in their final year are eligible for placement and placement starts from the 7th semester and plenty of companies come for recruiting from different sectors and for different posts. About 80 % of students get placed. Package ranges from 3 LPA to 35 LPA for Mechanical Engineers according to last year's data.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fee Structure varies according to categories and financial documents and status as fee waivers are provided by the government. It is affordable as compared to private colleges. Different scholarships schemes are there from different state governments and private institutions as well.
Campus Life
There are plenty of sports, technical and cultural clubs in the college and they are well organised and active as well. NCC and NSS are also there. One have to clear interviews to be a part of these clubs.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facilities are pretty good with proper accommodation capacity. Mess food is average but not very good. Registration process for hostel is very easy. After every years different hostel is alloted on basis of last year scores.
