Remarks
One needs to give WBJEE exam to take admission at Jadavpur University. The application fee is 500 rupees. 90 percent of seats are reserved for West Bengal students. There are also reservations of SC/ST/financial backward students. I did not avail of any reservation benefit. Only one improvement is that this whole process is a little slow. The whole process takes over 2 months to complete
Course Curriculum Overview
I choose this course because there is a lot of research opportunity. There are many experienced faculty how can help us in research activities and also provide us with funds. The faculty to student ratio is 50 to 1. The faculty is very qualified. They have both industrial and teaching experience. There is only one class test and one semester paper per subject.
Internships Opportunities
Fewer companies visit every year for internship offers. Companies like Amazon, Samsung, CESC, DShaw, Hotstart, etc. Currently, I doing a research project. I am doing a project on Harvesting wind energy and generating power. Moreover, I have to complete a simulation using MATLAB and Simulink. Later I have to present this research work in front of my department panel.
Placement Experience
The placement of our university is very nice. Many tech companies come to our university for recruitment. Over 150 companies visit and over 1200 offers are given in total this year. The highest package given is 50 lakh. The average package is around 8-10 lakh. Over 95 students get placed. I have the plan to do research work after getting this degree.
Fees and Financial Aid
The total fees for the whole four years are 11000 rupees only. Since this is a government college there is no fees hike. There are many scholarships for students from financially backward families. Although there is an on-campus job one can apply for research work and receive some.
Campus Life
There are many fests in which one can participate. The seniors are mostly responsible for arranging the fests. The name of the two most fests is Srijan and Sanskrit. The library is very well equipped. One can borrow books for over 60 days. The basic is in very good condition. The rooms are very well lit and very spacious. The sports facilities are average. The field is very big giving ample place for one to pay.
