Entrance Preview
I wrote Kerala entrance exam and I scored 7500 rank in whole state. Amrita college had a good reputation and there was a decent placement record. The interview process was not difficult.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum was not that easy. I struggled to clear the exams. Some of the papers are electrical machines, signals and systems processing, thermodynamics, environment management.
Internships Opportunities
The internship opportunity was very low at that time. Only few got that. Companies were google, Microsoft etc. People who went for the internship said that was a different experience as they came to know about what the companies do in real.
Placement Experience
Placement was almost 95-100%. Companies that came were Google, Microsoft, Caterpillar, Robert Bosch, Mindtree, USTGlobal, Cognizant, HCL. The highest offer made was 9 lakhs.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure was feasible. The semester fees was around 55000 including the hostel fees. This includes a caution deposit of 2000 which is refundable. Then if we fail for the second attempt then there is an option for redoing the course which cost 2000.
Fees and Financial Aid
They offer scholarship for people who can't afford the fees. Also the college topper was the excempted from the fees.
Campus Life
Campus life was enjoying but now I think it could have been more exciting. There were cultural activities which I didnt take part. As said earlier there were separate associations named asthra, elyzians, lakshya etc. There was no politics in the college.
Alumni/Alumna
The college seniors were very cooperative with us in all the activities. I didn't know any alumni. They helped us in every aspect be it cultural or technical.
Exam Structure
Exams were conducted at the end of every semester. It was not very hectic schedule. The best part was that the results were announced within 2 weeks after the exams and if at all we didn't clear any exam we could write that in that semester itself without waiting for 1 year like other universities.
Faculty
Faculty members were very experienced. They were very explanatory on the courses they took. They were very helping and cooperative and didn't hesitate to help whenever required. Some if the professors were from the IIT's.
