Remarks

You would have to have a score of atleas 45 to 48% and above (cut off) and you need 45+ Marks in mathematics to enroll for BscIT. The admission process was pretty simple, I had to fill the Mumbai University Form online before filling the college form offline which you can get in college during admission time. I think it would have been really good if college forms were available online instead getting it from college by spending a long time in a queue.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I was interested in Computer science, as this college offered a BscIT course and was closer to home I opted for it. There are 5 faculty members in IT department, they teach all batches of IT, each batch has about 30-50 students. Most of the faculty members are post graduates from masters in computer science, Information technology or mathematics. The exams taken periodically and aren't much difficult.

Internships Opportunities

3

There are companies like IIDE, technoserve and mastersoft which offered internship with 15-20000 monthly stipend for roles such as IT engineer, web developer, software analyst, security analysts etc.

Placement Experience

3

Generally students are offered placement and internship in their third year from semester 5. Different companies like Jio, technoserve, mastersoft approaches students for placements. The highest package offered is around 10- 15 LPA and lowest is around 4-5LPA, of which around 5-10% students get the placements.

Fees and Financial Aid

Total fees of BscIT course is around 80000, with each year being around 26000. Students from casts categories are given some concession on fees. Total fees include fees for Library, canteen and labs, tution fees etc. There are scholership programs for students with good performance, such as Bhojraj scholership program.

Campus Life

3.5

There is two events excluding the events conducted by different departments and sports events. OASIS is the intercollegiate annual cultural event conducted each year. Sanskriti is the intra college events. All the classrooms are equipped to accommodate students appropriately, with wifi connection in each classroom and projectors. Students can access library by registering themselves with library card, they can rent or borrow books for studies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose Biotechnology because it is a multidisciplinary field. We get to study not only topics related to biotechnology but also biochemistry, bio physics, bio informatics, bio statistics, etc. Mostly everything that is essential for future exams is taught during the span of 3 years. The topics of the units are taught in depth but the questions asked during exams are comparatively easy as to what all we studied. The frequency of the exam is, 1 internal exam which consists of both mcqs and written exam, the semester exam for each semester and practical exams for each subject. If u have studied then you will be able to attempt the questions.

Placement Experience:

My college gives campus placement placement opportunities typically after 4th semester, which is the 2nd half of the 2nd year. As my college has a partnership with IBM so the standards of campus placement go right up as the placement depends on the curriculum performance of the student so can't really say much for this. If saying as a stalemate, getting a placement is basically confirmed if the student maintains his/her CGPA of 6-7, which shows the consistent of the student in their field.
