Remarks

The admission process is very simple and easy. You just need to take the form from the outside of the college or just download and submit it after filling it up from the official heritage website. You can apply after securing at least 70% marks in the 12th class and you need to have a good rank and score in the JEE MAINS/WBJEE in order to get admitted here. As of now the admission process is very simple and hassle-free. There's nothing to complain about till now.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I always had a keen interest in the electrical field. So what's better than having the opportunity to study this favorite subject in HIT? I think no other college lab is so well equipped than heritage. It's full of modern machinery. Apart from that all the teachers are very helpful and always try to support us and teach in a manner in which the concepts get cleared for the first time only. All professors are highly qualified. They are either Ph.D. or M.Tech doctorate degree holders. So their experience is vast. The exams comprised of 3parts. Firstly there are frequent unit tests that happen at all the streams including my electrical stream. Secondly, occasional surprise tests and continuous assessment (CA) also take place. And lastly, there are 2Semester exams that happen every year like any other college. A student must follow the class notes given by the teacher. I'm telling this because most of the answers and questions come common during the class tests and even in semester exams also.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

The college provides good internship opportunities to the students to complete in both online/offline modes. The students who want to do an online internship can complete the internship via Internshala which is tied up with our college to give a personalized learning experience. Apart from that if any student wants to go with offline mode they can directly go with college teachers to do the fieldwork. I personally went to learn the circuit fixing technique which is much required for an electrical engineer. The hands-on experience always gives you a slight edge over the others. Most of the class students prefer to go with offline mode now after the covid situations. I would like to suggest to the students who are willing to join this college that you please choose the offline mode. There are two reasons behind this. Firstly you can learn more and secondly, you directly get the certificate from the company you are under for completion. So that's a very big thing to add to your CV.

Placement Experience

4.5

Our college provides placements to almost every students those who study here. The students become eligible for getting into job interviews after they reach the 4th year, to be precise when they reach the 7th sem or so. After that they clear the interview round they become eligible for placements into their desired companies. Every year about 60+ companies comes and most of the students gets picked up by the companies after cracking the interview rounds. The highest package per annum was recorded at 9.7 lakh pa and the average package being offered is around 4lakh Pa. So that's a decent deal for a newbie to the company. After getting the degree my motive is to join the state govt electricity board to serve my state.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees structure of our college is very simple and there are no hidden charges taken apart from taking the college fees. During the covid times, there was a slight price hike due to which the parents appealed to get it back to normal and our college took it seriously and now the price is again back to normal. So there's no problem regarding the price hike right now. The studying cost is quite minimal considering that it's one of the best private engineering colleges in entire Bengal right now. Apart from that, our college provides good amount of scholarships to the students who apply for it. There are different types of scholarships provided if the students want discounts in paying semester fees they can apply for that, even if any student wants to apply the student's loan card provided they can apply that too. It's necessary for the student that his/her family's annual income doesn't exceed 1lakh pa. I think this is something which makes our college worth it.

Campus Life

5

Our college campus is enormous and spacious. So students get to spend quality time here and can focus on studies more. Inside the college campus, it's an anti-ragging zone which means it's totally rag free. All the students help each other in need. Every year the annual fest happens during the winter season between Oct-Dec anytime. And the tech fest happens during the mid-year in between May-June. The library is very large and full of books comprising journals, books for engineering studies, wildlife magazines and many more. The students can spend time here as much as they want. Our college prioritizes sports activities as well. Every year there are sports tournaments happening which consist of cricket, football, tennis, volleyball, etc. Both boys and girls can participate in these events. Many clubs like dance painting singing and other extracurricular clubs are being arranged and run by the senior students for their juniors. So overall it's a friendly atmosphere here.

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
