Karan Kumar's Review On Shyam Lal College - [SLC], New Delhi

Good remarks about my college is sports, faculty, management and services but bad bad remarks are college canteen, building and classrooms.

For admission in the delhi university, we need to score above 90 marks in 12th examination. There are some courses for which we have to clear an entrance like english honors and master degrees.for bachelor of commerce we only need to get marks above 90 in 12th class and we must be a student of commerce. I scored 65 marks but i am in minority students so i got admission. I opt this college for admission because it is a nice college of delhi university and it has nice services and faculty.admission is done on the behalf of cut-off. 3 cut off are providedif your marks fulfill the requirements of cut off than you are eligible for admissionyou have to visit college and fill the admission form and pay the fee with your documents and id proofs.

Course curriculum was very nice and everything goes according to the need of students. Delhi university is one of the top university of india and its faculty is well trained and and well educated and wise enough to teach us. Shyamlal college faculty was not that good as another colleges of delhi university but they teach us really well and many of them has written books which are applicable in many colleges many of them are awarded outside india so overall faculty is well. Arts teachers are very good and standard of college and faculty is not that high but it is well if you are looking for an decent DU college for under graduation.

College internships depends on marks you achieved in your examinations. Only few students are selected who deserves to get internship and they are sent to face interviews in many accounting companies usually its very rare if any company comes in our college for internship but internship is provided and usually accounting based companies take us for internship. General stipend is 10000.

Placements are provided but it is provided to very few students who deserves more and who achieves more marks in the examinations and if a student is well skilles placement is done according to need of the students. Job opportunities in commerce background is more than any other streams.so opportunity is very high to get a job and a well skilled student has high opportunity to get placement. 100-200 around placedaccounting related companies came to our college package was around 2 lakh.

If we talk about events celebrated so this is the best part of college and this universityall kind of activities and festivals are celebrated in shyamlal college and in our university there are so many fests are organised in which celebrity comes like bollywood actors singers an yearly festival is organised which name is antardhwaniin this each departments performs and participates like cultural dancetechnical show nukkad naatak, music contestseven foreign students participated in that festival, if we talk about sports than our college is also very goodeach sports match is organised and special training is available for students. Management is very nice and police security is also provided if its necessary to handle the crowd and many students participates in all activities.

Fee structure is feasible because it is university of delhi and it is not very expensive and it is not a private university it provides degree courses which has high value but it charges very less than otherslike other colleges charges in lakh figures for MBAbut it charges only in thousands and have equal value but taking admission is very hard in this college for such kind of courses because very few seats are availablei paid around 25 thousand for my coursewhich is yearly paid in three installments.

I have never heard of any loan facility in my college. Ususally it is provided by banks to study in college for higher educations.

Campus life is very nicethe best part of our college is sportstraining and coaches are available for each sportand ground is decent enough for playing any sports so many sports event is organised like hockey match, cricket match etc.lab of computer is very nice high speed wifi is always on in our college and laptop is provided so you can access internet at free of costtheir are many competitions are organised such as debates, dance, writing, painting etcgender ratio is not equal you can say 3:7 3 girls and 7 boysworkshops are provided for each feilds cultural soceities are available and their is no bad things like race biasness or politics and gender discrimination or any political or econimical problms. These factors are never seen in my college so it is nice for a well environment.

My university provides nice hostel services and hostels in located in north delhi. Hostel rooms are well to stay for a student basic needs are provided with food hostel seats are few, usually foreign students stay in hostelsi didnt stay in hostel but few of my friends were staying there.Pgs are available at rentals which need to be paid. If you wanna know more you have to contact pgs because rates keep changes.

Alumni and seniors are very friendly. All students works together and seniors always supports their students for everything like for any activities such as sports dance or they even help you during admissions. The environment of college is very nice and my experience with my seniors and all alumni was very good cause all of them are well cultured and having good communication skills so i didnt face any problem overall my experience was nice.

Exam structure is well its same as other colleges and exams was just for 3 hours so it didnt leave me with a hectic day but it was also not so chilled out.
