Remarks

NITs have become very popular in the last few years and I was also influenced by the NIT I also wanted to complete my engineering program at NIT. So, NIT Hamirpur was one of the best choices for me due to its placement record and hostel facilities. I have filled out the admission form through the website ad submitted all my details like my JEE score and my academics documents online. I appeared for JOSAA counselling and secured a seat in the college.

Course Curriculum Overview

Our college curriculum is very intense and well structured. The curriculum fully helps us to understand and gain knowledge about every electrical component and its conducters. The faculty of our college is one of its kind because their teaching methods are quite different and a mixture of traditional and modern learning with lots of practical insights. Faculty have very good research experiences as they have completed their PhD degree from the very best universities in India.

The college internship program is well structured and very well organised we have to complete 80% class attendance to take part in the college internship program after completing the fifth semester of our program. We were also paid for our internships which usually ranges from 25k to 1.50 lakh.

Placement Experience

My choice was NIT Hamirpur due to its placement record our college has a very good placement program and the college also invites very good companies for the college placement rounds. The college placement committee works as the motivating force during the college placement drive which helps us to attain good salary offers. The highest salary offer was around 40 LPA and the average salary offer was around 12 LPA. Bloomberg, Amazon, Paytm, Samsung, Mathworks, Texas, etc were among the companies that took part in the college placement drive.

Fees and Financial Aid

Good education and good placement come with a price and NITs are not so affordable. so our college also offers various scholarships like 100% Tuition Fee waiver for SC/ST/PH, Full remission of the Tuition Fee for General & OBC whose family income is less than INR 1 lac per annum, Remission of 2/3rd of the Tuition Fee for General & OBC whose family income is between INR 1 lac to INR 5 lacs per annum, Coal India Scholarship Scheme, FAEA Scholarship scheme, Indian Oil Education Scholarship Scheme, LANCO-Scholarship.

Campus Life

Our campus life was full of various events and fests. Our college organises several events like Tech Nexus Fest, NIMBUS Technical Festival, Udbhava, Fortieth National Conference on Fluid Mechanics and Fluid Power, Hill, Music concerts, and many more. The college library has lots of books which helps us to gain very good knowledge from various topics our library has more than 80000+ books. We also have sports facilities like Basketball Court, Cricket Ground, Football Ground, Tennis Court.

Hostel Facilities

Our college has a very good hostel facility and a separate hostel for boys and girls. The hostel has a very good security system and security guards are available 24 hours. The rooms are cleaned properly on alternative days. The food at the hostel is good. The hostel has all the basic facilities like WiFi for internet connectivity and indoor and outdoor sports facility and many more.

Chandigarh-based companies or the startups, and training institutes come here. Companies like Meander Software, Bebo Technologies, Novem Control, BookingKoala - Sales Hungary, etc. companies come. Average package is 3.8 LPA, and 50% students are getting placed. My plans after getting the degree is working in an IT company.

yes they povide placements. After 6th sem, means in 7th sem you are eligible for placement and apply for companies based on their requirements. Google, Microsoft, Adobe, Amazon and many more visits every year. Highest is the PPO of 93 lakhs and placement of 60 lakhs. around 93% are placed who registers for placements Average CTC is around in between 18 to 22 lakhs

Placement Experience:

At NIT Hamirpur, students become eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester onwards, and the placement scenario has been quite encouraging in recent years. A wide range of companies such as Infosys, Wipro, L\&T, Capgemini, Tata Projects, and several core as well as IT firms visit the campus every year. The highest placement touched an impressive 2.05 crore offered to a mechanical engineering student, while the overall average package stands at around 10.5 LPA, which is a strong figure compared to many other NITs. The placement percentage remains high, with a majority of students securing offers, especially in branches like CSE, IT, and ECE, though core branches like civil and mechanical also receive good opportunities. The profiles offered include roles in software development, consulting, design, project engineering, and research. After completing my degree, I plan to take advantage of these placement opportunities to gain solid industry experience and later decide whether to pursue higher studies or competitive exams for broader career growth.

Remarks:

There are mostly good remarks for college like the environment in kangra Himachal Pradesh is best in the area. There are dhauladar hill ranges infront for college and fress air of hilly areas are good for students.

Everything about my college

When I was applying for engineering, I had filled applications for a few other NITs and state engineering colleges, but finally I chose NIT Hamirpur because of its good academic reputation, supportive campus environment, and better placement opportunities compared to the others. Some colleges I applied to had very high cutoffs and I couldn’t make it there because my JEE Main score was slightly lower than required, but NIT Hamirpur’s cutoff matched my rank, so I got admission here. The admission process was through JEE Main followed by JoSAA counseling, which is the most common and preferred route for B.Tech aspirants. The eligibility was 12th pass with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, and the cutoff for civil engineering here was comparatively achievable for me. The overall admission process was transparent and smooth, from registering for counseling to final seat allotment. I applied just in government degree college , kullu where I opted bsc but this college is far better than Kullu College in terms of facilities to faculty, as well as ranking , reputation. We can get admission in this college by giving jee main and students get this by josaa and csab counselling online. The admission was done by josaa. The admission process was easy. Simply go to their online portal and submit details and required documents. NIT Hamirpur offers more than 30 programmes at UG, PG and doctoral level. Candidates seeking admission to any of these courses must appear for the respective entrance exam and qualify its cutoff. NIT Hamirpur offers a four-year BTech programme across nine specialisations in full-time mode. The selection of candidates to NIT Hamirpurs BTech programme is based on their JEE Main score. The centralised counselling process is managed and regulated by the JoSAA, based on which the candidates are allotted seats. The seat allotment is based on the college cut off and a candidate's preference for courses and colleges.
