Remarks
From my time, when the college was accredited as B+, the college is now graded as "A" by NAAC. They have improved their facilities ten fold - improving the computer labs, increasing the quantity and quality of PCs. They have a very good library, lots of extra curricular activities to hone the skills of those who want to.The teachers take care of the students like family and ensure that the academic part of the learning is complete from their side.
Entrance Preview
No entrance examinations required. I chose this college because I wanted to get into software development and this college has a good reputation to get the best out of its students - academically.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course curriculum is the same as prescribed by the Mumbai University. I have passed out in 2009 where in the course structure was very burdening on the students. Currently, there is a Grade Point Average (GPA) structure deployed which makes more sense. Also, the course matter has been updated to suit the timelines and develop the students' logic rather than mugging up things. The faculty is the best in the industry. They made the best out of any situation when I was a student, and constantly bringing about changes to help the students to learn and grow in a better way. At the beginning of the academic year, the schedule is properly mapped out between the faculty and expertly executed from start to finish.
Internships Opportunities
I was hired by an IT company in campus interviews. I did work with the college as a Visiting faculty (Third Year B.Sc Comp. Sci.) for one semester until I got a call from the IT company.
Placement Experience
The best in the industry. The faculty thrives on getting the best companies, keeps in touch with the leaders of other IT organizations and their Alumni, and keep themselves updated with the requirements in different organizations.
College Events
During my term as a student, I was part of a tech-fest "Sagacity", which prides itself on being the 2nd best tech-fest in Mumbai after IIT-Tech fest.
Fees and Financial Aid
Friends had availed of such schemes, but I am not aware of the details.
Campus Life
Despite having its own ground, basketball court, badminton court, athletics, indoor games VES does not have a huge campus otherwise, Having such facilities means a lot of extracurricular activities taking place in the college. Since there are so many different colleges in the same campus (Engineering, Psychology, B.Sc, B.Com, Polytechnic, etc) we have a lot of ongoing activities throughout the year. Annual fest brings students from all the different streams together. Techfests from B.Sc (Computer Science, IT) and Engineering colleges host various events - including Robotics and Bluffmaster - which are the highlight of all the events. Gender ratio seems to be equal.
Alumni/Alumna
I, as a student, got help from many alumni visiting the college and guiding us from time to time. As an alumnus, I am summoned by the faculty when required (once a quarter) to guide students in the right direction. Students keep in touch with the alumni with their queries.
