Remarks

The institute offers not only courses for bringing out qualified professionals in the field of Speech and Hearing, but also caters to other facilities and government projects that are connected to the Hearing impaired population.

Entrance Preview

When I was admitted there was not entrance exam or interviews. Admission was based on state quota and merit.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Audiology and Speech Therapy course was interesting and we were given practical clinical experience right from the first year of the course. During the first year, we had observed our seniors interact with patients and then in the second year, we handled patients under the supervision and guidance of the clinical staff. By the third year, we could guide the freshers.

Internships Opportunities

Until 1995, there was no separate internship for the course. We had clinical experience along with the theory knowledge and submitted assignments, projects and case studies during the course of the three years. The third year also included a separate case presentation and discussion for each student.

Placement Experience

5

There was no campus interview/placement concept, but since the profession is exclusive, getting a placement is not difficult.

College Events

4.5

Freshers day Annual day celebrations Festivals New years eveFarewell party. The residential facilities for the students of AYJNIHH had been great where we could also celebrate individual festivals together.

Fees and Financial Aid

I am not aware of any loan facility offered.Since it is a government institute, loans are not offered by the institution.

Campus Life

4.5

We had lived like a family in the hostel with each of us from a different state of India. Hostel parties, midnight birthdays and cultural programs were a great success. Gender or racial bias were never to be seen.

Alumni/Alumna

Most of the alumni are now connected through social media like facebook, twitter and whatsapp. Some of the meet at the college premises to relive all the memories of AYJNIHH.

Exam Structure

Labs or clinical hours were optimal and were managed within the speculated hours.Exam schedules were also not very hectic and most of us were able to clear papers at one go.

Faculty

3.5

Faculty of the college had been friendly and provided the right kind of guidance. We learnt a lot from the clincial staff as well as the teaching staff. They knew each of us personally and were always ready to guide and help with any problems faced with patients therapy or handling.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose Biotechnology because it is a multidisciplinary field. We get to study not only topics related to biotechnology but also biochemistry, bio physics, bio informatics, bio statistics, etc. Mostly everything that is essential for future exams is taught during the span of 3 years. The topics of the units are taught in depth but the questions asked during exams are comparatively easy as to what all we studied. The frequency of the exam is, 1 internal exam which consists of both mcqs and written exam, the semester exam for each semester and practical exams for each subject. If u have studied then you will be able to attempt the questions.

Placement Experience:

My college gives campus placement placement opportunities typically after 4th semester, which is the 2nd half of the 2nd year. As my college has a partnership with IBM so the standards of campus placement go right up as the placement depends on the curriculum performance of the student so can't really say much for this. If saying as a stalemate, getting a placement is basically confirmed if the student maintains his/her CGPA of 6-7, which shows the consistent of the student in their field.
