When I took admitted to Fergusson college. I had applied for the English medium only. 1. Admission Process: There are three Sections 1. English Medium section 2. Marathi Medium Section(English & Marathi Section are Gran In Aid-Subsidized by Govt) 3. Self Grant section. Each comprises 120 seats. 2. Admission Process: All the admission process was done through the GEMS website which is right now replaced by Www.livestudent.deccan society.org.Here you have to upload all the details required for the usual type of admission form.1.HSC Academic History 2.Reservations options 3.Personal Details 4.Photo & signature 5.All other relevant Certificates.etc. Later on Merit lists are put on the official website www.fergusson.Edu.According to available seats & reservation policy norms.Eligibility Any HSC Exam passes out can apply for the BA course. 3. Reservation Policy All standard reservation policies notified by Govt of India/Maharashtra are employed in the admission process. There is a little disadvantage for Non-Maharashtrian students on the Merit list.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course chosen-It was a natural choice for me as I did my HSC at the same college. Faculty-All faculties are well-qualified Ph.D. holders. Faculty-student ratio- approx 1:8 Exams-All the Exams are conducted according to the Annual Academic Calendar. Most times exams are conducted timely. The difficulty of the exam can be subjective as it can vary according to the admitted student. But it's the Difficulty level is Easy-Moderate.

Fees and Financial Aid

Academic Fees: Academic Fees is revised recently. Right now it can cost around 5-6 K /yr. Scholarship-Financial assistance. Government scholarships are available in the college for Reserved category students. For Maharashtrian students -Maha Debt Scholarship, etc. In my batch campus placement were available for Department like Economics and Psychology(Internships are quality one) to a certain extent. I don't have any idea about other departments.

Campus Life

4.5

Fergusson College has one of the best annual Fest in Pune. There are different department-wise Fest also there. Usually, they are conducted in months of Jan -Feb. Library: Fergusson College has one of the oldest libraries in India. The library has around 25 lakh books. There are two library cards issues for each student. The library has a reading hall which is quite vintage. Classroom Amenities are normal ones. Like Projector, Old steplike classroom structure, etc. Sports & Extracurricular. Fergusson College has a vibrant history in sports achievement. As college has one cricket ground, a Badminton court, a Kabaddi playground, and a Handball court. In Extracurricular activities, the sky is the limit. The college has NCC(Army & Naval). Active NSS groups.Cultural department. Lots of competitions and events always happen here. Social groups. We have SAATHI(group working for visually impaired students), SOEC, SCI, etc. Volunteers of this group teach underprivileged students in nearby areas or municipality schools, etc.

Quite substandard and below average. Prioritised rote learning over critical thinking. Just a rubber stamp for a degree. No actual education ever took place. Exams were anually or bi annually. Exams were difficult if you cannot write 30 pages in 3 hours.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculam is designed for all round development of the student and to make that person an expert in that field, these aspects influeneced me to choose it. Very well, with extra paper of real world application on each subject it ensures that we take something from the course and become industry ready The teachings methods and cirriculam are excellent I don't think any changes are required Exams are all year round, every month and are extremly difficult to deal with, as Xavier's bar is very high.

Yes, there is no specific place where we get to know that whether the college is open or not on a specific day like the day which has been declared closed by the government. The college doesn’t provide this facility for us. We have to move all towards our home to the college to get this thing.
