Remarks

After completion of their class 12, one can apply for this course. The admission was held based on the average marks of best of four subjects of class 12. Then one had to fill-up the form from the University. Application fees is 500 rupees for unreserved candidates and 250 rupees for reserved candidates. The best 40 will be selected based on their average marks and then they will be called for counseling; out of which 30 students will be selected for this course. However for masters, after completion of their graduation in the very subject, one can apply by the same procedures stated above for their MSc in Statistics

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I chose the following course because statistics have a lot of importance in this time we are living in. The student faculty ratio is 150:25 Each of the faculty member has post doctorate degree in their own subjects. The teachers teach on a black board. However there is a lab equipped with instruments required for the students. The term exams are held twice each year; one for mid sem and one for the end sem. There are 10 semester over a period of 5 years and after completion, i.e., passing each semester with 50% marks and 75% attendence per semester, one will be given the following degree, Integrated MSc in Statistics.

Internships Opportunities

4

Companies like Ipsos, Adiviti, Provet etc often offer internships . The stipend depends on the projects which can be around twenty thousand to thirty five thousands. However I cannot point out the exact details as I have not completed my masters yet. But as I have heard, the project's often include modern day problems and their analysis

Placement Experience

4

The students become eligible to apply for companies from their 9th semester. Companies like Ipsos, Adiviti, Provet, Citi banks , etc often come for placements. The average package is 5 lakhs per annum at the beginning. The percentage of students getting placements are about 60% . I plan on joining any of the following company after my completion of my degree.

Fees and Financial Aid

Each year costs around 15000 until their BSc. The fees for their masters course is around 5000. Each student has to go through the admission procedure before their mid semester examination by depositing the said fees and their last semester's results. However the students can apply for scholarships like Vivekananda scholarship or Inspire scholarship during their first year in the course.

Campus Life

4.5

The department of Statistics conducted a annual fest every year on the month of March; preferably the 2nd week named 'Zefirino'. The life in the campus is beautiful; full of greenery. The classes consists of desks, lights, fans, air conditioner and a smart board along with a white board. There's a library and a lab in the department, equipped with sufficient books ,instruments and computers required. However, the department has bats, balls, badmintons and frisbees and a huge field to play on during one's free period.

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

It's my decision from class 12 that I will do civil engineering, so I chose the civil branch, the course curriculum is well and the teaching level is good but the main problem is lab, there is very limited classes for lab, so I think they should improve there.

Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus.
