Harshita Chauhan's Review On Geeta Engineering College - [GEC], Panipat

The college plans to give its students a good industry experience in the fourth year. They even organise value added programs, which are somewhat unique and helpful. Infrastructure is pretty old, but in last two years extensive renovation has been done and is still going on. Around 50% students get placed through the college placements.

I got admission here after appearing for JEE where I scored a very high rank. In+2, I got 68% including the subjects physics, chemistry and mathematics. Apart from this I had to go through a round a group discussion followed by a personal interview.

Here we study calculus, analysis, physics as well as chemistry in further details. We have tostudy five courses each semester where in we get to know about the mechanical design, the overall costs etc. Course curriculum is good and you will have many choices for electives inside as well as outside your engineering stream.

The roles offered were that of a software engineer and many others. Other roles are also very good. 80% of the students got an internship from the college. The lowest stipend is rupees 5000 and the highest stipend is 25000. A full semester internship with companies which have tie ups with the college gives immense exposure before students step out into the corporate world.

The placements are very good in this college. Many placements took place for my seniors. The percentage of students who got placements is above 65%. The packages are also very good. The highest salary offered is 3.5 LPA and the lowest salary is 1.5 LPA. Almost all companies like TCS, Wipro and many other companies came to hire our students.

Apart from studies, other curriculum activities also happened like cultural events, Tech fests, etc. Participants from all over India and abroad come to take part in these fests. Sports fest had the highest cash prize in the country. Then, there was the technical fest and then, the cultural fest . These fests had taken the college to a whole new level.

Fees is not very high as it is just 336,000 for the complete course. There are certain events where you have to pay extra like fine or something. And then there is hostel rent, so in total it becomes a little more as commpared to other engineering colleges.

The college does provide scholarship to extra creamy students of INR 60,000 for excellent performance in previous academics.

For sports, our college encourages sports persons and it conducts sports regularly. Our college participated in the university level cricket matches held in Delhi. The quality of food in the canteen is very good. I have not faced any infrastructure related issues in my college. The coding culture here is great with a lot of students involved in competitive programming. It provides a great learning environment for beginners who wish to get into the IT sector. The institute is growing at a very fast pace from a past few years

The university has rented hostel facilities which are decent. The college hostel is good enough but the food quality is not good enough. Boys hostel is a bit away from the college campus but one can get an auto rickshaw anytime. However, the canteen being in the college campus makes it hectic for hostelers to go and back to the canteen two times a day.

Alumni was supposed to come for guest lectures but they do not come at all. There was just one person who came for a guest lecture and I do not know if it was a faculty somewhere or an alumni

Each year, an industrial visit is organized which is very helpful to understand how things work in these companies. 1st 2 years in BE has 4 semesters with 2 online exams and 1 theory paper each semester. 3rd and 4th year has only theory papers. However, it has an extensive test and exam system and your grades will be dearly affected if you miss classes.

The faculty is our main strength. We have an excellent faculty who are student friendly and highly experienced. Most of them are PhD holders and still continuing their PhDs as a part-time excluding teaching. They are very helpful in projects and exams. They take part in every activity done by a student. We are always encouraged by our faculty and lead in a disciplined manner.
