Entrance Preview

I got the admission in the college through the andaman & nicobar govt. quota for the students who have studied more than 10 years in the island are eligible for availing the direct recruitment facility. I opted this college due to its ranking in the state. it is no. 2 in the civil engg. stream which i have opted for.

Internship is not a part of our college.

Placement Experience

Placement for our batch is very good since it was boom in the civil engineering in the year 2007 when we passed out. Out of 60 near about 35 got placed and remaining too got jobs some or other place.

College Events

The college is organizing many festival right from paper presentation at state level to national level also many technical exhibitions organised, besides cultural programs are intrinsic part of the college.

Campus Life

In our department gender ratio of boys to girls is 40:60. However overall if you see it is 70:40 ratio if you part away mech branch than it is 50:50. campus life is very nice and the student get a good opportunity in many fields other than academic. The college has good infrastructure in sports like food ball ground, basket ball area, table tennis, gym etc.

Hostel Facilities

The hostel is having two blocks for boys and two for girls. total occupancy around 1200 beds. The fee of accommodation along with mess per month is 1500 at that time. The food quality is good out of 5 will give 4 stars.

we are eligible for placement from the 7th sem. Many famous and small compines vist our college. Infosys, WIPRO, TCS vist our college. But the big companies take only few student. Highest package was 1,00,000. And the average package is around 4,00,000. Almost all students gets placed from the campus .

My Experience at NIT Calicut

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the EEE course curriculum around 8-8.5 /10 in terms of relevance.The curriculum provides strong fundamentals in core electrical engineering subjects and prepares students well for core jobs and higher studies.The course curriculum was revised in 2023, and our batch is the 1st batch under the new curriculum. however, there are still limited coding ,AI and data science subjects in EEE ,which could be improved. Exams are conducted times per semester and are generally moderately difficult.

An honest review of GCE KANNUR by a student

The college is merit based admission college, to get admission in this college you have to write an entrance exam which is KEAM and I have a rank of 16000 in KEAM So the college I first confirmed admission was GEC Kozhikode which was a good college but the campus was too small so there was a spot admission which was held by GCE kannur and I applied for it The admission process is managed by KEAM they give you a date to take admission and the process gets done in 2hrs you have to be physically present with your parents , The overall admission experience was smooth and well managed by the faculties...Read More
