Remarks

I took admission to Thapar via the board. The cutoff for my branch EIC outside Punjab was 91 % in boards and 85% for the Punjab quota. Through JEE you require more than 90. percentile to get admission in Thapar

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is not that old but also not that modern also. The syllabus is a lot and we face difficulty during exams. Passing exams is not that difficult but still if you study one night before u will get barely passed.

Internships Opportunities

De shaw, optimum, jo Morgan, Cisco, mckinsy, focus energy, sales force, talents of, VMware, Blackstone, Amdocs, American Express, applicator, axis bank, Adobe, neci, Infosys, etc And many more have visited for summer internship for 2023 pass out batch

Placement Experience

Students became eligible for placement after 3rd year. Google, Adobe, de shaw, L&T, Schneider, Amazon etc visit campus The highest package was 42 lacs and the median package is 8.1 lacs. More than 90% get placed.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees are huge in Thapar I think highest in north India after Bits Pilani which is around 20 lacs to 25 lacs for 4 years and the college do not provide good scholarships also. Also, there is 10% fees hike every year.

Campus Life

The campus life in Thapar is lit. There are many fests going on the college fest is conducted in November Which is called saturnalia. The library of Thapar is one of the largest in India Sports facilities are also good.

Hostel Facilities

Hostels are quite good some are new and modern and multi-story, but some are old and not maintained. The food quality depends from hostel to hostel. Hostels are getting on basis of CGPA. You need to have a 7.5+ GPA

MY HONEST REVIEW ABOUT MY COLLEGE LIFE

Placement Experience:

from 6th semester students become eligible for the placements and they should not have any backolgs or reappers in the exam and they should have morethan then 5 cgpa . as i am from the 2nd yeari donot know more aboutm the placement offered made but the average packagr is 3.5 to 4 lakhs per annual and around 70 to 80 percent of students are get selected in placement . and planns after getting the degree is to do higher studies in aerospace designing in the aircrafts.

Placement Experience:

Here, the placement drive starts at the beginning of the 5th semester and goes till the end of the 8th semester. Here, all MNC like Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Capgemini, and many other companies come to our campus for hiring. In the very last year 2 students got selected with a prestigeous 2.5cr & 1 cr packages.

Placement Experience:

From 5th semester onwards students are eligible for the campus placement. Either they get internship or they get placement offers . Number of companies visited are more than 50. I will give some examples of some best companies like google , microsoft, accenture, virtusa, lenovo , Paypal, shadii. Com , JP morgan and many more other good companies visit to our college. Highest package last year was 52 lakh and the average package was 6 lakhs . More than 70 percent Student are getting placement. My plans after the degree is to get a good job in a good company

The course curriculum should be rated on how useful and complete it is. A good one covers all important topics like Software , Networking , Automata , SQLetc. it is mix theory and practical work . For CSE studendent there are coding laguage like C++ in 3rd sem and DSA in 4th semester.

Honest is the best Policy

i applied for lnmiit college jaipur . there i was expecting computer branch but did got electronics branch so i didnt went there.here in thapar it was based on jee mains percentile for addmission. computer branches were available till 89 percentile for punjab students and till 94 percentile for outside punjab students. so i had percentile of 95 so i easily got computer branch over here....Read More
