Remarks

You need to clear WBJEE with a decent rank to get into TMSL. If your preferred stream is EIE, then it's safe to say that you need to get a rank under 20K. You'll get all the admission details on their official website.

Course Curriculum Overview

I wanted to pursue either ECE or EIE as I have always had an inclination toward Electronics and It is one of the main branches of TMSL. Faculty members are average acc to me, not pretty good. TMSL has a decent Faculty: student ratio. The term exams were pretty much on time and the difficulty level was moderate.

Class Size: 35Course Fees: INR 120000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

The course fees are pretty high compared to other private Engg colleges in Kolkata. And even if the total course fees written is 4.93 L, you should add 25-30K more. It's something around 5.3L for 4 years.

Campus Life

The name of the Tech fest conducted by our college is EDGE- it is the 2nd largest Tech fest in Eastern India and also the largest Tech Fest in Kolkata. It's generally conducted in the month of May and it's like a Festival here :) We have a pretty decent library and you won't face any problem finding the books you need.

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

It's my decision from class 12 that I will do civil engineering, so I chose the civil branch, the course curriculum is well and the teaching level is good but the main problem is lab, there is very limited classes for lab, so I think they should improve there.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
